Does Steam provide direct support?
Is it possible to directly contact Steam support, or does Steam not provide direct support to their customers?

Everyone has to use the same ticket system, after going through the self-help menu.

Why can you not do it that way ?

The self-help menu doesn't provide a way to create a ticket.

Yes it does, but you have to navigate it correctly.

Click this and go from there :

If your issue is not addressed in that menu, then chances are it is not something that support can help with anyway.

What is the problem you are having, if you don't mind my asking ?

My issue is not addressed in that menu.

I've just purchased a humble bundle with 24 items on it, and I'm activating the codes one by one. After the first ten or so activations the steam website prevents me from activating any more because "There have been too many recent activations on your account."

I'd just like to be able to activate the codes I've bought, without the steam website treating me like a criminal.

It’s just a time out, try again later.

It's a safety measure, you'll have to wait and you can redeem the rest. Everyone is treated equally and they aren't going to disable security and make a special exception for you.

Then this is why there is no direct contact with Support, or one reason that is. By limiting needless tickets, they can work faster for those that actually need support.

The message you have tells you what is going on, so nothing is broken where any support is needed. Everything is working as intended :

"RECENT" activations. So try again later, please.

You should wait for at least 24 hours to activate the rest of your games, dont worry is not like you're blocked or something wrong with your account.

This user is absolutely correct, please wait at very least 2-3 hours.

WHat is the ACTUAL cool-down period? I see answers here ranging from "30 minutes" to "2-3 hours" to "at least 24 hours". They can't all be right. Is it documented somewhere?

Well if the activations are a rolling limit the exact length of the "cooldown" would be variable and dependent upon when the first activation falls off the limit.

I decided not to wait around, and found that it was about half an hour. Dunno where this "at least 24 hours" idea came from.

Thread was posted in 2020. Maybe something has changed since back then. If so, this is one reason why digging up old threads can be an issue, because sometimes, the conditions that existed back then may have changed now.

I'd be interested to know if you can add multiple keys with newlines between at once at: https://store.steampowered.com/account/registerkey and so not have that problem?

Did someone ever try to add 20 keys that way?
