Steam now requires to be connected while playing any Steam game? I played Dishonored years ago on my PC, and it ran smooth like silk on porcelain, now I got one from Steam and it's laggy and stuttery. Has anyone else noticed this? Any good alternatives to Steam?

Seeing as my internet was just out for 30 minutes before I even noticed, while playing a Steam game, I had no issue.

You can play games just fine with Steam not being connected to the internet. It shouldn't effect the game's performance, provided it isn't a multi-player game.

Aren't all versions of the original Dishonored only available through Steam in the first place?

Cannot say my net goes down too often, but didn't noticed any issues with playing any game in single player.
Only that the achivements popped after I reconnected.
