UPDATE: But considering you already have a VAC ban on your account. Being locked out completely isn't worth the risk either.

It's not worth the risk as it's falsely manipulating your "achievement". Valve doesn't take this lightly.

Please extensively read the following article

https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=4044-qdhj-5691

that article is made by Valve and although they don't cover achievements a lot. When they see any manipulation on their servers with achievements. Any red flags may cause a ban

I dont know what to make of all of this relating to the use of sam. There are many games that i want to do over the achievements and i cant(like postal2, csgo and many others). Achievements is a feature(like the game itself) that we want to play them(and the game) again and again(especially if you keep staying and buying games on steam giving main consideration to the steam achievements). Thats what makes steam different from all the other game sites. And sometimes( it really happen, and to me also), there are many faulty achievements that the devs or steam(dont know who) dont fix, or there is no answer, or noone there.

I have tried it to postal 2(very good game) and then i will try it to csgo(another very good game to play the achievements just once and thats it).

For 14 months I've been using SAM to reset achievements. Back in Nov '17 I started making guides for all games I managed 100% and sometimes I go back to games that I completed before I made guides, wipe the achievements and playthrough again to make a guide for it.

And as you can see I have no bans on my account.

One thing I would say however is not to use SAM on a game that is VAC protected or has online competative achievements as there are Devs who have issued game bans for this, it's rare but a possability.

***EDIT***
Dennisalex, I would strongly advise against using SAM on CSGO.

Consider carefully that CS:GO is tied to the VAC system and exploiting that could hinder your reputation even further.

And the likely result is becoming restricted to a few things.

Best of luck but im not here to debate Valve's business practices on their services. Hope the best!

Well, i cant do anything else. I want to play the game with the achievements again and again and steam is giving me no other alternative to that. Only one go with the achievements and thats it? I believe they must think that over to find a sollution or leave, unbanned, sam.

Anrkyuk have you ever unlock achievements for whatever reason? Not reset.

Thats how achievements/trophys work on every single platform.
You cant reset trophys on console either.

If you want to do achievements again just family share the game to a new account, that account can do all the achievements again. For CSGO the game is FTP anyway so just play it on a new account.

That is a bit tricky to answer. Banned from in-game or community areas? I have tested for years on alts if you get banned in-game even while on VAC secure servers and I never once got hit with any type of ban, but I have seen people unlock/lock some achievements and get forum banned from certain game hubs (won't give a list of these).

But overall no you won't get banned on Steam for using it. It is as of right now one of the only way to reset achievements so people can get them again unless the devs add that feature into their game (and they can if they want to). Family share is another option if the game allows it.

Due note that you can mess up the achievement trigger for games by using it and achievements might not work properly again by using SAM.

I have made already another account and played several games again to the max but is not a solution to make several accounts to replay a game for the achievements. Achievements(i write again) is something unique on steam compared to all other game sites, i stay and look only for games with ach(>20 in number for me) and never look the others even if,for some, are the best games. i have played team fortress 2 about 6 or seven times from the start and it has 500+ ach. Cant write all the word every time so i write ach. And steam wont gain anything financialy by having several accounts. I concentrate on one and i just buy something once a month for the other accounts, so im not get banned in market. What else to say? They must help a little with maybe a reset program of their own if they dont like sam, to help more themselves and then the customers.

They already did, like I said devs already have the ability to add the reset function to their games if they want. You need to ask on their game hub for them to add to a game you want.

If Valve isn't too fond of reseting achievements, perhaps they could implement a counter on them displaying how many times they've been completed instead.
