Steam Can't Log In or Connect Megathread

UPDATE : The issue seems to have been solved, you should be able to reconnect now.

Cannot Log into Steam Account

"steam is having trouble connecting to the steam servers" I get this error each time I try and login into my steam account. I have a second account that I use and it works just fine. My main account is the problem. what do I do?

This problem made me waste an hour of troubleshooting not just steam but my internet as well.. I literally uninstalled everything lost all my content and games and reinstalled it I eventually came here to find out that steam has crappy servers and it's a world wide problem... Thank you for making this post hopefully something happens soon.

WOW! I Wasted my whole day reinstalling steam, trying malware detection software, checking my firewall, etc. AND IT COMES OUT IT WAS THE PROBLEM WITH STEAM ITSELF! WOW! I WASTED SO MUCH TIME!

Well, still having this issue. I can't even play games offline, because the same error that the servers are busy pop up even though i'm not connected to the internet. I have logged in with an account I just made, but the games still are not working.
