I think KeNp didn't mean the recent games list in the client. I believe he has the same issue as I do: in the windows start menu, when opening the steam sub-menu, your recent games are listed in the order you played them. This list is not updated since the recent patch.

I am having the same problem and I would like to ask a few questions...

1. Are any of yo uusing classic shell?

2. Did this start in late June or mid July?

3. Any of you using beta Steam?

I know of no solutions and it seems very Niche that only very few are dealing with.

1: Not using classic shell, using basic
2: Yes, just after a steam update
3: Not using Steam beta

1. No, I dont
2. Yes, after the July 24th update (the one that revamped chat interface)
3. No, I use the stable release

1. If by classic shell you mean just regular windows then yes. If that is some kind of program then no.
2. That timing sounds about right.
3. I am not using Steam Beta.

I cannot imagine what it could be but it helped withdraw some of the variables. (Classic shell is a prgram that makes windows 10 start menu like windows 7)

Anyone already try reinstalling steam?

Assuming those recently posting here have the same exact issue described in the OP above, what exactly happens when the games fail to update ?

Details on what you see happening might help. Games not updating themselves can be a simple fix like changing download regions maybe. Or, there might be a more complex issue to look for, that causes this problem.

Boot the computer into safe mode with networking. This is a simple test and narrows down the possibilities. There, log into Steam and try to update a game or "verify the game files".

Describe what happens next, in detail. Again, safe mode "with networking".

Not sure if this is revelant, but is it the same problem this guy is describing?

So this is actually a steam problem? This doesn't happen on Windows 7 for me.

Guy said he fixed the problem by unpinning the games from the list, but pinning a game again causes the same problems. is the same thing happening to you guys?

Its not a game in particular
Its the games list on the start menu
Mine hasn't changed for about a month
THAT is what we are trying to find a fix for

What about in your library in Steam, not the Start menu ?

Is your library list in Steam correct and up to date ?

Well, if you guys just list the version of windows you're using + beta version of steam or not, we can find this out pretty quick. It doesn't happen for me on windows 7 with regular steam version.
