Steam refund affecting paypal
Something interesting happened to me this morning, I went to check my paypal and its in the negative, apparently steam filed a dispute towards paypal over the game that was already refunded and now I have to pork out money.

Where would I go about this? Does steam have a special email for this issue?

Never heard of Valve filing a dispute with PayPal before. If there is an issue, they simply lock the user's account.

How did you get the refund? Through Steam or a chargeback?

I hope you didn't just chargeback the game -- because that's NOT how refunds work.

Wouldn't that show an account alert?

If the account was locked, yes. If Valve decided to start contesting said charges, then I have no idea.

I'd like to know that for future reference. That would be interesting to know.

I mean i dont even know if this is true, everytime I call up its a different story, The first time was steam and the second was my bank saying the refund was unauthorized. I don't know what to believe rn so I'm just going to email steam and contact my bank.

Does anyone else have access to your Paypal account? Even accidentally? Ever done any off-steam site trades for instance, which may have allowed your login credentials to be used without your knowledge?

Who did you speak to that said your bank and/or steam was responsible? Surely not Paypal?

It surely was paypal bud, where do you think I got the information from. I would not even be here if that was not the case.

No one logged into my account

I am not here to argue or try to get help to solve this from the community, I just wanted to know where to contact steam regarding this.

Thanks

It does seem like some wires were crossed - did you speak to the SAME person at Paypal? Did the first escalate you, or what? Because... it's kind of radically different answers to get from them, that's why I wondered.

Your bank is the best bet - if it's connected to your paypal and they mentioned it at all, it's best to know ahead of time, and contact support here as well while you wait for answers. Hope nothing is gone wrong, but if it's something you did not do *someone else did*.

First off.

Did you ask for a refund through the Steam client and then it was approved?
