FAKE STEAM ADMINS
I was unfortunately a victim of the latest scamming tactic: impersonating a "Steam Admin." These people (in my case, a user called TAMAAK) set up their account to look like it is a "Steam Administrator" account for example, they would say stuff like: SERVING YOU, or HERE TO HELP WITH YOUR STEAM PROBLEMS SINCE 2013. In my case, i was contacted by a user, telling me that they accidentally reported me and asked me to contact this admin (they will usually send you their account) to retract the report. This led to to me friend requesting them so i could message them. They replied by saying: "good day what is your issue." I told them about my issue and they told me i had a "pending ban" (THERE IS NO SUCH THING) along with a video of it, which seems like damning evidence but is just good Photoshopping. They will ask for your account name ( i sadly replied to them with the account name) but not your password, yet. They inform you that they will need to deactivate your Steam Guard if you have it on. They then asked me for the password, to which i said no. And finally they asked for my age, to which i replied i would rather keep confidential. I was about to investigate further when i got a notification from Steam informing me that my credentials had been changed. I luckily had not saved my credit card information, so they couldn't buy anything, but i was permanently locked out of my account. I immediately filed a report to Valve, talking about my issue and after just 4 hours, my account was restored. I noticed that the fake admin had added new friends to my friends list. I blocked them all and also removed my sent friend requests. I reported TAMAAK and i hope you do the world a favour and report anyone like this. LOOK FOR THE VALVE EMPLOYEE BADGE, IF THERE ISN'T ONE, THEN THEY ARE FAKE, PLEASE REPORT THEM.

That particular version is active for years now. Nothing new.
You are just one of hundreds of victims.
Why should anyone heed your warning?
You evidently didn't read any of the thousands of threads of people either getting scammed, or asking if that is a scam.

My brother fell for it, And now he's trying to use my brothers account to scam me saying that my brother ( While he was beside me) accidentally reported me for duping items and such.

Your brother's account is absolutely compromised, and he will have to go through ACCOUNT RECOVERY to get it back. While he's doing that through Support, your computers will need cleaning...

Scan for malware. https://www.malwarebytes.com/

Deauthorize all devices https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage

Change your password on a secure device.

Generate new back up codes. https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage

Revoke the api key https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey
** If there is nothing in the API key area, that’s fine. If there IS something, remove it. Nothing should be there.**

No items that have been traded away during this time will be returned to you.

Also report the account’s profile as scammer, and STOP visiting 3rd party trade sites!!

Thanks for the help, although it will be of no use, He's completely logged out, They even changed the email. I did the account recovery for him and made the note as detailed as possible to help his case. Though I'll be sure to tell him to do those things once he gets his account back if ever.

Your FRIEND has to recover his own account. Nothing you do will help him.

Your friend/whoever, doesn't have to be logged in OR have access to the email that's been changed.

They need to go to the ACCOUNT RECOVERY system and *read*, provide PROOF of ownership.

Dude this happens literally every day. They KNOW the 'email has been changed omg!'. They account for that in the system.

Judging from that shady site you advertise in your display name, it's only a matter of time before you fall victim to some other method. I'm gonna guess "phished account".

I like how you claim you didn't give them the password or private info, yet they gained access to your account with just your ID hahaha
