Can't download any game. Stuck at 11 KB/s.
I've tested my internet speed and it shows 280 Mbps down, 160 Mbps up. My Steam game download is stuck around 11 KBps. I've cleared download cache but nothing helped. I've even reinstalled Steam (lost all my games). Now I have to start all over but nothing helped.

Yep same thing - DC area (verizon fios). I have to use a VPN to get the downloads to work at all. Otherwise it sits at 10KB/s and keeps trying to start, but never works. Checked the log files in the steam folder and it apparently cannot contact the content server. Keeps spitting out " Received 404 (Not Found) HTTP response for depot"

Again - VPN fixes this so I'm assuming it's either a verizon or steam server problem.

There's 5-10 of us that have all had this same problem over the past day. I have a ticket in with steam which I'm sure won't do anything, but so far I haven't been able to find a fix. Over 12+ hours of sitting at my computer the past 2 days trying everything I can find and no luck.

Blizzard download / updates all working fine, it's a problem with steam.

US East near Philly here. Verizon Fios as well.

I'm on Verizon Fios as well. I guess I have to give VPN a try.

So sounds like Verizon/Steam east coast have a routing issue. It doesn't matter what steam server I select in settings either - none of them work without VPN. I've been searching around all day expecting a bunch of people to be complaining about this, but this thread is the first I've seen others confirm it.

Going to make a post on the official fios forum too.

Same here, verizon/US east coast, no matter what server I try i'm stuck around 10-12kb/s. I had a short (10min) spike to 12MB/s.

VPN works. I'm using ProtonVPN 7-day free trial. Hopefully they fix by the time the trial ends.

Found solution: Verizon Fios recently switched to using a thingy called “Self-organizing networks” makes it so that you can access both 2.4 and 5 ghz bands on the same channel. It will switch between them automatically. Turn off this feature using the myverizongateway website / app and your do speeds should be fixed.

Go to your wireless settings -> click on advance security settings -> click on other advance wireless settings (located under level 2) -> click yes -> option for Self Organizing Network on top. (just wanted to point out that mines was already off and I nonetheless still have this issues. Good luck to those that tried it)
