You are the only one who ever sees those names. It shows mine. But it would never show ME, yours.

No of course not. But it's not an issue: YOU are the only one ever able to see YOUR OWN computer names.

No one else can see them. I can only see mine. You only see yours.

Why do you believe this is even a problem?

It's *supposed* to detect those things. That's what that feature DOES. All it does is feed information from your computer to the client you're running: on your computer and only your computer.

This information isn't stored anywhere on Steam. It's not available for anyone at steam to see. It's a *local thing* on YOUR computer.

So no, it's not a problem, and cannot be removed, nor is it 'illegal' - it's literally just a program that acts like your bathroom mirror: who do you see in your mirror right now?

Because I see ME in MINE. You will only ever see you.

Not a problem. can't be 'fixed' because it is anything but a problem. You not understanding what this thing is doing is on you.

FYI: these names are stored on Steam, so they could be removed. The fact that they are private and not shown to other people doesn't change that.

As to why anyone would want to remove them... beats me.

Yeah, they do obviously store the PC names, definitely not a local thing.

The problem is (to my knowledge) the fact that you can't delete these names.

Where exactly are you getting the "they store this info" from?

because Those are the names ON your computer. That's where it's tapping the info LOCALLY.

How in the world are you not getting this?

Have you clicked on the link?

https://help.steampowered.com/en/accountdata/MachineAuthName

This isn't local and its pretty obvious. The way you can tell this is because you can see pc names from other pc you have logged in on that account from.

If it was local then why is it showing more than one account?
