Yes, I've read that, but the key is printed in the format I showed.
And the manual clearly states that its a Steam key / Steam Subscriber Agreement.
That's why I was asking if there may be expired formats.
It's listed on the box and in the manual as a Steam key / Steam registration required.
It is 100% a Steam product.
Installation opens Steam and ask for key, but the key is not in the formats that it lists.
And error is Invalid Key.
If I go to support they simply say they can offer support for retail CD keys.
This format is definitely not a Steam key. You might be able to link the game to Steam and redeem it this way.
•Quake Mission Pack 1: Scourge of Armagon
•Quake Mission Pack 2: Dissolution of Eternity
•Quake II
•Quake II Mission Pack: The Reckoning
•Quake II Mission Pack: Ground Zero
•Quake III: Arena
•Quake III: Team Arena
Steam download 2007.
wouldnt even waste your time with them if its Bethesda that own ID now, their support are useless for current games never mind 15 year old retail boxed.
I own them all as well, have em all big box and rebought Q1 & Q2 complete on here, I managed to find Q3 Arena but its a day one big box copy with just an install code, so I never even played it on Steam, there's obviously different versions of it though.
I think the problem with buying retail games that old is proving you were the first person to touch it. quite often they'll just refer you back to point of purchase.
On the plus side had some fun there rifling, I dug out a pristine big box of Blade Runner which recently made it to GOG and found all my Valve big boxes, CS Retail and Gunman Chronicles...ahh the memories.
As long as there's nothing in their system that says the key was used, the kety itself would be proof of purchase and they mights....might honor it
Did you get any instructions inside the case that explain what the key for?
Contact both Bethesda, and Steam support, see how you can redeem the key.
