No idea what you even mean by this. If you've toggled the friendslist to show up on the left side of the chat window, there's a button on the top right of the chat to undo that.

If you mean the modal window that pops up upon hovering on the friend showcasing their badge and for example the in-game status, then that's been there forever and is in my honest opinion not all that annoying.
I can make a video for you to spoonfeed it if you want to keep acting difficult.
You're also certainly not helping your argument if you don't want to help others help you.
This is why it's smart to include details like "I'm talking about the web-browser version, and not the client version of Steam" in the opening post before going all "-1" on people.
It's easily doable on the client; not as easily doable on the browser's chat.
