4 hours free trial, 1 hour after purchase - do you think i can get a refund?

Hello,

I've been playing a game that was on a free trial promotion for 3 days that one of my friends suggested. I ended up putting around 4 hours in until it ended today.

I decided to purchase it so that i could play a couple of rounds with my friend today and I kind of regret my decision as it seems to be matchmaking at unfair advantages now.

I literally purchased the game just over an hour ago so i only played it for about an hour since. Obviously the game title states that I have played 5 hours overall though because the free trial is still the same application.

I've popped in a refund request and explained the situation.

What do you think the chances are that this is going to be successful? Thanks

Btw, does anyone know where to see free weekends, since it seams the news dont tell it anymore. Noticed that while checking for this topic.

Yeah, I noticed that it wasn't in the news section. It was promoted through the advertising popup that you get when logging in, but if you've got those turned off then you have a problem. I believe that there are both Steam group(s) and a popular subReddit that you could check instead, but I'm afraid I don't use them so I don't have any links.

Couldnt find a group that does that. News section was the last spot i knew of.

But basically the user should be able to refund, as he never played the game outside the free weekend. On the other hand, technically free time counts as well for any reason.

So my receipt for the purchase of the game was an hour ago yet theyre just gonna overlook it for 4 are they?

Write to support directly, explain that the weekend is still running, and you want to refund the purchase.

It doesn't matter at what point you actually bought the game. What matters is that you've played it for over 2 hours. It's not like it becomes an entirely different game as soon as you pay money for the license.

Yeah it was hunt, though for me when i tried to play it today it said my trial had expired. Thats the whole reason why i bought it in the first place. =/

Yeah i checked its store page and theres still 19 hours, very weird. I made an update to my request saying it was a purchase by accident going by the fact that I only purchased it because the trial had 'ended'. I guess just see what they say in the morning.

Yeah it was just an auto bot saying its been over 2 hours. Would've been nice to get a human response that actually regards what I wrote but nevermind.

I guess at least its only 20 quid wasted. Maybe the game will get better *shrugs*
