Constant notifications popping up of my friends and me getting online

Constant notifications popping up of my friends and me getting online

So my friend has been telling me that he will constantly get notifications of me getting online. The same will happen to me with a few other people. I have had to turn off notifcations because of how bad it is. Anyone know how to fix this?

If you lose connection to Steam, it will reconnect. Your friend is constantly seeing you going online is the evidence of either you, or them having a bad internet connection or some program is interfering with Steam.

As a workaround, both of you can turn these notifications off:
Steam > Friends and Chats (where your avatar used to be) > Settings > Notifications.

I see all my friends playing the game losing connection. So something else must be the cause.

Can't be bad internet connection, i'll be on a server and never lose connection when my friends are getting notifications of me constantly getting online. Plus this only happens if we are in the same lobby or server and this only happens to me and like two other of my friends.

Do you share the same ISP? Installed programs? I provided a link to the article, which lists programs that can interfere with Steam.

Are you playing Monster Hunter? I've been seeing that with it and when the game came out.

It's specifically this game. Something is wrong, and I've had to turn my friend's list notifications completely off because of how annoying it is. I had 3 friends playing this game, and I spoke to all of them. Everything on their end is fine and they've had no connection issues. However, I am getting spammed constantly that they have launched the game. From 3 people it's insanely spammy.

This hasn't happened with any other game. I will keep my notifications of friends launching games off for now till this is fixed.
