My steam wont install
whenever i pick the install location it says that it is in my notification tray and it needs to be closed in order to continue. you see i deleted the steam file incorrectly by just clicking the delete key and not the uninstaller.
If someone has fixed this and can tell me, thank you very much <3
(FIXED)

Ok, check your recycling bin. If in there, highlight, and click restore.

If not, then go where you uninstall apps, and uninstall Steam, then reinstall it. May need to delete everything in the Steam folder, where you install it, if you want to pervert deleting the games, move the "common" folder out of the Steam folder, then place it back once you reinstall Steam.

Can you be more precise? "It says that it is in my notification tray" isn't exactly clear.

the steam app is uninstalled, however it still says the message that steam is already running and to click on the steam icon in your notification tray to exit steam and then run this installer again. I appreciate the comment

That's most likely because the Steam service is running. You haven't even deleted the whole Steam folder (the problem wouldn't exist if you had).
Kill the Steam service (and pretty much everything Steam) in the task manager and the restart the installer. And next time you delete stuff, do it properly.

Any reason why you didn't read the reply right above?

everything is killed off in the task manager that is to do with steam that I can see, is there a certain file I should look for?

Task manager, end Steam.

If not able to do so, restart PC, then reinstall Steam.

There's no file, there's processes. Every process with "steam" in name shall be killed. Well, the ones I think of are Steam.exe, SteamService.exe and SteamClientWebHelper.exe but really, kill everything with "steam" in name.

Either that or delete stuff properly.

Just to add, please, after the helpful comments above, make sure you save your steamapps folder in the future, if for any reason you uninstall Steam. Usually there is no reason to uninstall it, and in this case it was a new install so my comment here did not mattere, but if you have games intalled, and you uninstall Steam without saving that steamapps folder, then you will also uninstall all those games and have to redownload them again. Just FYI.

Thanks for the heads up in the future
