Graphics problem (Please Help Me)
Hi

i've just got a new laptop for Christmas and downloaded Steam and all the games in it. But when I start the one game (Train Simulator) the graphics immediately became all over the place. i tried another one and it''s happening the same thing. I don't know if it's to do with the graphics card but would anyone be willing to help me asap?

Regards

Well we know you got a laptop. But strangely we don't know anything about your laptop, because you neglected to provide any information about it. And last I knew there was at least two different laptop models in the world. Rumor has it that there's thousands, but it's only rumors...

Hint: Try throw some information in your post. Help us help you.

Wild guess: Your laptop doesn't meet the requirements and/or is overheating.

Well, thats looks like a defect graphic card/chip. Typical artifacts.
I guess you need to send that laptop into repair or get an replacement.
Sucks to get a defective product at Christmas but can happen.

what are the specs of the laptop?

go to the tippy top where it says Steam - View - Friends - Games - Help
Pick "Help" and then "System Information"
Copy that info and paste it here.. that'll tell us more about the laptop specs if you don't know them on your own.

Those aren't any useful system specs.
What about the CPU?
What about the videocard?
What about the operating system?

Absent more detailed information about your graphics, I'll make two assumptions. (1) The graphics on your laptop aren't up to spec for the game, in which case you're looking at an upgrade, if that's possible. (2) You actually have a second graphics card installed (as I do on my laptop) but it's not set as the default graphics card for the game. Right-click on the Steam.exe icon in the Windows Program Files (86) directory and click on Run With Graphics Processor to choose the other graphics option. If there's no option, see (1).

On reply to the latest post here, i have tried Number 2 with no luck. I can however though I can try and list some more important info about my computer that might help:

CPU: Intel Core i5-4200 2.50GHz
Intel HD Graphics 4600
NVIDIA GeForce GT 820M

I'd just say return it. It looks like the GPU is defective.

Does TS2019 run on a GT 820M at all? I suspect not, as TS2019 does not like laptop computers generally and GPU's that are specificaly intended for laptop use.

Hello, please post you 'full and detailed Steam specs', as listed under the small 'Help' tab above towards top left on this page. Select 'Sytem Information' and copy the full detail before pasting back here in your next reply.
If you only have a GT 820M graphics card, you will struggle to play TS (or any game) above low graphics settings. It may, or may not, be possible to upgrade your graphics card, dependent on seeing your full Steam PC specs.
Best.
