valve games
I want to know why my pc can not run valve games, no matter what it is (doom, team fortress 2, portal 1, half-life, counter-strike: source, etc). if anyone knows how to solve this problem, please help me already spent a little game in valve games, and do not run only because of this protection (which I do not know why does not allow the games to run). here are the configurations of my pc: pentium dual core E5500, 2gb ram and no video card. Unfortunately I know a website that helps me find out if the game runs or not. and he gave positive to the games I left in parenthesis. but at the time it opened and does not run because it is locked in a way that can not be played. (site name: can you run it)

No GPU = on-board graphics.

On-board graphics chips are made to serve as a simple display adapter, they are not suithed for gaming. The graphics drives likely don't even support these games, it might not even support any form of 3D acceleration using OpenGL or DirectX.

This machine is nearly 10 years old and lacks a video card. It's not going to play anything so don't bother.

The Systemrequirementslab website is useless and often wrong. Don't rely on it.

Go to the top of your Steam library window and click HELP > SYSTEM INFORMATION. Copy and paste the ENTIRE list here.

It may be your operating system, a virus scanner, firewall, bitdefender, broken installation, drivers missing, etc etc - but no one can help without that.

you say you have "no video card" so that's why you cannot possibly run any Source games. Goldsrc like half life 1, cs1.6, tf1 those can run without a video card, but obviously you NEED to have a card on it, to run ANY graphics games like Source engine's.

You might be mistaking Half Life 1 for 2. 1 is from 1999, 2 is much more recent and on an entirely different engine.

Without a video card, you CANNOT run modern games.

Check with friends or coworkers. Sometimes they have older cast-off parts, or they're planning on upgrading their own rig and won't have a use for older parts.

However you may very well want to start from scratch and build a decent gaming desktop, they're not nearly as expensive as some would think, and when you do your research into parts and assemble it youself it can be very rewarding to make :)
