No way of contacting Steam support to appeal a scam warning
I've been informed that people trying to send me trades receive a warning telling them to beware of possible scams when trading with me. I've never scammed anyone in my life on Steam or IRL either and I've never asked or offered anything outside of the offer window in a trade. I have absolutely nothing to hide and would like the support to check all my chats and transactions if they need to, but I can't find any way to do so through Steam help. I don't think Steam community moderators can't do anything about it, but if they can where do I contact them? I know you can't contact Steam support directly, is there a way to submit a relevant ticket?

You don't. It just goes away over time. That is what happens when you have been reported several times and it has not been investigated yet. The message goes away if you are not reported as such for a few weeks.

First of all, thank you for the quick reply. So in the meantime I can't do anything at all and have to simply lose potential offers over some random user abusing the scam report button? After the investigation are these users punished?

With normal steam trades that warning shouldnt matter anyway.

If the trade is with in the system, and the user you trading with is at least some what experienced with trades, it shouldn't be an issue. It it a notice for them to be careful and double check, something they should be doing anyways.

It would take more then one report to cause the message to come up, so it may be more then one user doing it. As for something happening to them, chances are their reports may start getting ignored if they keep making false reports. Not something moderators are familar with though as that would something more internal at Valve.

I understand, yes it's definitely more than one but it's most likely just users who don't like it when I counter their offers because they didn't read or simply ignored my trade terms. They are free to get angry over 10 gems if they feel to do so but that doesn't make me a scammer, sorry.

Thank you for the kind and professional reply. I'll wait it out and check again in 2-3 weeks. Have a nice day :2017stickyorange:

Hello again, I'm sorry but unfortunately this is being an issue. I have people commenting on my threads with an offer, adding me and then closing the trade, unfriending me and blocking me because of the scam warning. On top of that now I'm getting this cretin "This trade appears suspicious" popup when I try to counter an offer of an user that doesn't have anything in his Steam items inventory but has some stuff in Don't Starve Together, CS:GO, PUBG or similar that I can ask for and if I have not played that game then I get an automatic error in sending the offer. This is ridicolous, and with the way some users are they see the warning, block you and report you for scamming just because of the warning itself without even any trade involved. Now what, I have to stop all trade? I don't see why I am required to lay low for weeks when I've done nothing against the rules.

You don't have to stop trading. About the user trolling you just block him and there's no need to add someone if you just want to trade. Also as Totoro said:

I remember checking one of your trade posts after I saw this thread the first time and didn't see any "scammer" warning.

Hi, thank you for the reply and the example offer you sent me. In the threads there's no scammer warning, it only appears when you are actually trading, and I don't know the details but it doesn't even happen consistently, it typically appears when you receive an offer from the person accused of scamming and not when you send an offer to him/her but it's not always the case. Anyway believe me, it's very real, and here is a screenshot.

No that's not the problem. The user is not trolling and would have traded normally with the offer he himself mentioned if it hadn't been for the scam warning. I don't want to block him, I want to not have this warning which I do not deserve and trade with him normally. This warning is damaging my business - if you want to call it that way - that is the problem.

edit: furthermore, now I'm apparently shadowbanned from getting CS:GO items in trades just because I never played it.

OK, now I saw the warning, apparently it's only visible when you send the offer, when I sent it I didn't see anything.
