My friend's steam account got hacked and taken over.
This is me quoting my friend's words since he cannot do it because his steam account is taken over obviously: [removed]: ''So, the gmail which i registered my steam account on, got hacked and, i dont have that many important stuff exept my steam account. I tried to recover it but since the hacker has access to my gmail, he changed all recovery steps so rip my gmail. Somehow he removed the gmail from my phone and, like that, he managed to reset my phone completely, like if it was a new phone, so i just made a new gmail and started over. The good thing is that the hacker cannot access my steam account because i have steam guard mobile authenticator, so instead he SELF-LOCKED MY STEAM ACCOUNT. I'm just wondering if the people in charge of steam and all that, can unlock my steam account and transfer it to my new safe gmail? (saakov.david12@gmail.com), and remove self lock?. I've spend around 400-500 euros, but probably more, on this account and i really dont want to lose it and give up on it. Plus all my friends and stuff are there...pls help!''

First of all, don't do what this guy just said. Spamming support with reports on people you've never interacted with just wastes their time and leads to things taking even longer.

Second of all, don't do what this guy just said because all you have is his word on it. Anyone can come to the forums and accuse anyone of hijacking a "friend". which is why that isn't allowed. Watch: "My friends account was just hijacked! The hijacker's name is STNRobby!" See how easy that was? I could just as easily say it was Sneaky. It doesn't really matter who is accused because there is no proof, and nobody on the forums can do anything about it anyway.

Now, that mess out of the way, your friend needs to read this and follow the instructions: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=5421-QTFB-3090

You need to do nothing other than give that to your friend and tell them to follow the instructions. Do not report anyone who you haven't interacted with, especially don't make false reports claiming someone tried to scam or hijack you when they did not even speak with you. Steam Support can tell when you lie about that sort of thing because they have access to your chat logs.
