insurgency sandstorm stuck on preparing to launch

Hi guys,

As the title says i am having trouble launching this game it says that it is updating and preparing to lauch but just sits there and does nothing for hours.

Things i have tried so far

updated windows
updated display drivers

i tried to verify game files but cannot because the game is greyed out in the game list and does not give me the option to select properties..

any ideas??

Thanks but I have done all thats in that article apart from the verify the game files beacuse I cannot select properties when I right click on the game because its greyed out..

Because Steam still thinks the game is uninstalled. It's surely covered on that support page, or pages linked from there, as to what the problem is.

What is your antivirus program and any other security software you may have installed ?

Post the full operating system, including if 32 or 64 bit.

Post the exact model number and model of the computer. If custom built, post the exact motherboard, please.

There are other drivers in a computer than display drivers. Post the computer information requested above, please.

There can be other software, rather than antivirus or security, that can cause issues with Steam like this. CCleaner being one example.

It's usually a software conflict that causes the game to lock up on "preparing to launch".

all sorted.. i did not realise that the game was only available for a short perioid of time for beta testing.
