new art censorship
as many of you know steam rolled out a ai whos purpose is to censor "questionable" art using special algorithms, the problem is it also censored a lot of harmless stuff like custom artworks and special effects like rain and confetti, is there any way steam could rework the system to stop this from happening without breaking steam?

for the most part artwork wasnt really being abused
I soooo wish you were right on that...
i mean me and my fellow art designers never really abused it and i rarely saw it abused
So many others do abuse it everyday. Just because you don't see it, doesn't mean it does not exist.

I've reported dozens of them in the past 6 months. And I saw Colt ☶'s profile where 1 user had the entire artwork section full of nudes. Dozens of them.

Over the years, UGC; including avatars have had inappropriate content.

It's not going to change any time soon.

People just won't adhere to the content rules.

Honestly the current blurring system is more of a attempt to avoid having to do too much censorship in reality. The level of content that is against the rules and gets removed entirely hasn't changed but when it is working properly the blurring should help with the content that is on the borderline where it is considered acceptable but controversial enough that a significant portion of users don't want to see it or would complain about it (especially if they set it so an account on family view can't see anything that is blurred).

The better a system can get at keeping things from being seen by those that shouldn't the more freedom can be allowed for those that should.
This forum is still fresh so I'm considering posting. The only way of fixing this problem is to directly contact steam through support. they will remove your blur unless it is actually NSFW.

why cant we just go back to the old days of steam where you could see everyones hours, art wasnt censored, and so on, steams really just screwing the advanced steam user

Change your settings.

Once you've changed them and saved it, clear your browser's cache.

These UGC preferences don't have anything to do with the EU update to game details.

Game details are now private by default.

It is at the discretion of the account owner to change these.

You have no say in their settings.

That does not work for me and a few others. I uncheck those boxes and save, nothing changes. Ive contacted support we spent a week of me trying to do various things like reinstalling steam, checking a different network, clearing my steam cache and trying other browsers.

Nothing worked and as of last night support basically told me they cant figure out this problem, they cant comment if their working on a fix or not and to come here for help. They closed my ticket and my account remains bugged.

It was confirmed that the bug has been addressed.
