Terribly Slow Download Speed, Drops to 0Bytes/s Every Few Seconds
I've tried like every fix I've seen online (90% of them being to turn off DiagTrack). I've also cleared every cache there is to clear, restarted my PC, restarted (and recently reinstalled) Steam, tested my download speed (50+ MB/s) <- THATS FAST. My default download region is Washington DC and I live like an hour and a half away so thats right, I tried switching to Philly, same result, switched to West Africa because someone said to, little bit better for a second and then went right back into the mess. I have to download so many games right now and these awful speeds are not helping at all Im not waiting and hour to download 5 gigs. Please help.

DiagTrack

I could be wrong but I'd bet this is the source of the issue.

I'd completely remove it. I doubt disabling it actually undoes all the changes it makes.

Haha back to square one I'll look into it.

Does that somehow also function in safe mode with networking ? I am unfamiliar with that process/program. Thanks for the help.

Nice. And yep, I see almost new device drivers there for download.

Windows 10 "should" take care of them for you normally, if you have the OS fully up to date, but I hate this about Windows 10. I don't trust it, so I prefer to install my driver updates manually.

You might want to think about installing them manually also. If you have fully ran Windows update that is. The difficulty we had in identifying this board, as well as what you said above about it being "unavailable" gives me some concern as to if Windows can take care of them.

Just installed the latest Intel LAN driver. Wills see if that helps.

I am not in safe mode anymore. After the region testing we started to get into things that required my system to be in normal boot to download/run.

Well, that can explain it. I wish I had known that, as the good SV is exactly right.

That process is probably your issue. And why I kept suggesting you stay in safe mode with networking while we worked this problem.

EDIT...

Don't forget to restart the computer when you uninstall DiagTrack.

Okay so I already have stopped DiagTrack, but how do I completely remove it? As good SV suggested.

If it is a program you installed, then you should be able to just uninstall it using Windows, and then restart the computer afterwards to be sure any changes take effect.

I am not familiar with that program/process, sorry.

Assumed it wouldnt be in programs and sure enough it isnt. :(
Do you have Norton installed on this computer ?

It looks like a child process of another parent program, from what I am seeing. Therefore, you would have to uninstall the parent and reboot.

Don't use Norton :(
Then I guess I am wrong, and it is from a Windows Update, perhaps.

Google this and feel free to figure out where that process comes from :

"DiagTrack on Corsair One"

How did you disable it from running before ?

Did you use msconfig and uncheck it there to run on boot under services ?

I'll do a search, but yep I disabled it in services.

Sorry for the runaround here a bit trying to help, but I agree that process is suspicious.

And if it is somehow related to a Windows Update, that "could" explain why it would even be an issue, perhaps in a safe mode with networking boot.

So I found how to delete the process, you need to run CMD as admin then type: sc delete DiagTrack and bam it's gone. Just rebooted, downloads are still s h i t . UGH

It seems to be from a Windows update now that I am looking into it further here myself. But that's strange as others might have this problem also, if that is the case.

Or, maybe it is just unique to your system hardware and DiagTrack.

Did you by chance notice this problem start after you installed updates from Windows ?

If that is the source of this problem, of course. I don't want to alarm you, but there is one thread I see where some are concerned it violates the agreement with Microsoft to prevent the OS from collecting your data about how you use your computer.

I am not sure if this process falls under that or not. Windows 10........arrrrrr ! :steamhappy:
