The install the game once again, but if you want to completely clear the game that was uninstalled then remove the files then download the game again. I hope that was helpful. Have a good day.

But if I install the game again which is a singleplayer game, will it keep my save files?

Installed games are appearing as uninstalled

EDIT..................

If you still have no joy :

Go to the game folder of the game you said appears as uninstalled. Open it up and try to find the .exe for that game. Right click it and run it directly from that .exe. That can sometimes cause Steam to reaquire the .acf file needed for Steam to see that game as installed.

After that, you can verify the game files, if you wish.

Then I can try downloading the game again and see if it'll restore itself.

Yes. If you are worried about saved progress, you can make a manual backup, if that games stores the saves in the game folder.

Some games store saves elsewhere, though.

I think it's working as it states as I download that it's discovering the game files.

That's great. Thanks for the reply it seems to be working. You can verify the game files if you want to when it is finished. See my edit above, please.

You are welcome. It might be worth considering why that happened. In some cases, using an external hard drive with Steam/games can cause issues, for example.

Which is one of the things I'm worried about and therefore never considered. I'm also not worried about backing up the game files, as I'm already in completion of the game and will delete it as soon as I'm done.

I see. Feel free to look into it further if you wish, or it happens again.

For saving your progress in games, many here suggest this, and it works well :

Just because you mentioned the saved progress above.
