Don't know how to stop fallout 3 from crashing

I bought fallout 3 and i have windows 10 and everytime there's an explosion or automatic fire in the game it crashes. Also when i right click on the fallout 3 app and select properties theres no compatibility tab like the internet says, so i'm not sure how to fix it. does anyone have any other ways of fixing fallout 3 crashes on windows 10?

"Fallout 3 is not optimized for Windows 7 and later." But you could look for guides to get the game working on Steam or elsewhere on the internet.

Per Bethesda: "Fallout 3 is not potimized for Windows 7 and later operating systems"

There is a mod on NexusMods that is supposed to fix Fallout on Windows 7 & 8. Not sure if it will work for Windows 10, but it's probably worth a shot.

Go to the game forum for F3 and read the pinned thread there. You 'can' get the game decently playable, but it is most likely going to crash sometimes no matter what on newer operating systems.

There are some great guides around on how to limit these and maybe almost prevent them. So check that out.

I have the game recently reinstalled here and modded pretty high, and I only get a crash every few hours. So saving often is needed of course.
