Gift was downloaded but nowhere to be found

Hello.

I gifted a game to my son. He received the email and downloaded it to his Steam account. After not playing the game for a number of months, he wanted to play again, but it is nowhere to be found. The game does not show up in his library (no games do), and there is no record of him ever having received a gift.. How can he get this title back?

depends. where did you buy it from? if not from steam, and some grey market, the key was invalid/bought with stolen credit card/charged back/etc.

Try this:

Go to your inventory, select "More" in the upper right corner, and "View Gift History". Make sure that he's on same account.

(You can also go to https://store.steampowered.com/account/history/ and find the gift there, but this includes all purchases that you've made)

I can see the gift in my Inventory. I know my son received it (and played the game). Something must have happened to his account, because NOTHING is there. I'm sent a Help Request in at the link you provided above. Thank you. Hossinn

Have you checked to make sure his library isn't filtered? IE: Click library, then click the drop down box and make sure the filter for all games is enabled.

Also, have you made sure your son is on the right account? maybe he just log in to the wrong account?
Many times pepole come and said games are gone here, and many times it was just the wrong account
