Games shutting down PC [RESOLVED]
Okay, I have recently bought a new desktop computer and installed some games, aswell as various programs for CG and Rendering.
Everything looked fine until i tried to play CS:GO and after 5 minutes it shutdown my pc and started rebooting it self instantaneously. The same thing happend with PUBG. But the weird part is that the pc didnt restart in every other game. I tested it with GTA V, Rust, Garry's Mod, and every other game I have, but it only happend with CS and PUBG.

So i tried to test my GPU (GTX 1060) , CPU (i7 8700k) and Ram Memory (8GB DDR4) looking for errors and didnt find anything. Temperatures where minimum (50-65°C), nothing is overclocked and it all could take stess tests at 100% without shuting down. And my motherboard (Gigabyte Z370 xxx) is new and is not defective. My power supply can take 750W and it never failed before (PC uses only 550W in total). So I had to think it was a SOFTWERE problem and not HARDWERE, but all my drivers are up-to-date like my old PC and everything is compatible.
I dont thing CS and PUBG can reboot a system, but i do not know any other problem that could be causing this, and I cannot find a solution anywhere.

I would appreciate if someone had some knoledge in that matter to help me fix it. Tnx, here is my setup:

Power Supply: Cooler Master G750M (750W)
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z370 HD3 LGA1151
CPU: i7 8700k (8th Gen)
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060
RAM: 8GB DDR4 2400MHz
HDD: 2x Sata 1TB 7200RPM

SOLUTION:

My PSU was defective, and had to be changed. Now it all works normaly.

Same entries in the log too.

Even a new PSU can go bad. It is pretty rare, but possible. Sounds like a PSU issue to me, but of course, I could be wrong.

If it only happens in graphincally intensive processes of some games, where the GPU is pulling more power, that can maybe be a clue.

Check the Event Viewer for red flag alerts and read the messages there.

Also, is the BIOS fully up to date ? Did you check Gigabyte for notes on the latest BIOS release ?

EDIT..............................

On looking at the board info...

That RAM seems to not be in spec with the list.......

Support for DDR4 4000(O.C.) / 3866(O.C.) / 3800(O.C.) / 3733(O.C.) / 3666(O.C.) / 3600(O.C.) / 3466(O.C.) / 3400(O.C.) / 3333(O.C.) / 3300(O.C.) / 3200(O.C.) / 3000(O.C.) / 2800(O.C.) / 2666 / 2400 / 2133 MHz memory modules

https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z370-HD3-rev-10#sp

Minimum speed there looks like 2133 MHz.

Are you sure that RAM is supported ? Is it on the QVL list for RAM for that board, if avaialble ?

(Please refer "Memory Support List" for more information.) <---------------------------------

It does seem to support XMP so you need to check that in the BIOS settings.

Support for Extreme Memory Profile (XMP) memory modules <----------------------------------

It also has integrated graphics so are you sure there is not a GPU driver conflict between device drivers for the different GPU's ?

I will be changing my RAM memory them, and if nothing works, i will try changing my PSU. Thanks for your time :happy_creep:

Hey, you need to check your XMP profiles in the BIOS first. Maybe you can set that RAM there in a profile.

But so far, that is what I primarily see.

EDIT..I made a typo above and typed XML insteald of XMP. Sorry about that. Corrected.

I have already done it, and the XMP only changed a bit of my memory speed, and the game kept crashing. The RAM somehow is supported, but I will try changing it to see if there is a diference.
I too will try another GPU to know if its mine that is crashing it. But I believe it realy is the RAM.

Yeah before you go changing components on anything new, remember things sometimes just need to be reseated after you take something home or after its delivered. Reseat all the ram, reseat all the cards

My question is, that if you recently bought this computer.......

Then why does it have unsupported RAM in it ? Meaning that from the page I linked above, the minimum speed supported is 2133 Mhz.

And you have 1200 Mhz installed. Why is that, if you know ?
Snapjak Feb 9, 2018 @ 7:42pm
DDR (double data rate) would be 1200x2, so it's DDR4 2400 but somehow incorrectly configured.

Make sure you have XMP set in your bios.

Actually, I bought all the specs separatedly, and installed the components, the motherboard did not specify any supported DIMM cards, only that it had to be DDR4, but the store, let me change and pay the diference. But I will try to set XMP one more time.

I linked you the specification of the board above. If that is the exact board of course. You should check your hardware against official information available from trusted vendors or better yet, the official manufacturer. In this case, Gigabyte.

Where does it say that?
Read on the package what your ram is, then set the written timings and speed in the bios.

Info 1: I have tested all the possibilities, and changed my RAM card to 2400MHz (Also tried turning on XMP), and it kept turning off. So, I got my old Video Card (Geforce GTX 660) and put it into my pc, and tried again, and it worked, it didnt turn off.

Info 2: There enters more posibilities that I am not sure of. The old Video Card requires 450W minimum, and the Geforce GTX 1060 requires 400W, therefore removing the possibility of being the PSU. (So the problem isnt the PSU?)

Question: What could be causing my GPU to be turning off only on those 2 games?

If its only the card and only 2 games, these must use something what the other games dont.

I had a strange bug with a game once, that caused a physical problem when it was 1920x1080. Only then. Only that game.
So try changing settings of the games.

But I used the same video card in my old PC and the games never crashed my PC.

But I have alredy tested the CPU with CPU Stability Test. And it worked with another GPU.
