Did I just get scammed on G2a
So I just bought Max Payne 3 steam key global edition from G2a for 5 bucks and when I got the code some part of it was missing, there is a code but in the middle of the code are 5 underlines! Anyone knows what happened here ?

Thanks.

1. You bought your key from a gray market, where people resell keys, or stolen keys.

2. The g2a has a rep of allowing people to sell fake, and stole keys that were bought with stolen credit cards. For example how you got your game key is exactly what a fake key will be, false details, now the person is hoping you take your sweet time so that seller can do it all over again once they get your money, it's what they like to do.

3. Gray markets are always bad, because you need to pay for protection, to get your money back you spend on the game, g2a expect you to cough up the fee for their protection.

4. If you paid for the protection service, then contact the website, and request a refund from them for the game you bought off their site.

I do not condone doing chargeback, because they can be a hassle, since you didn't buy the game from Steam, it shouldn't affect your Steam account. But what will happen is if you chargeback on g2a will get upset, and ban your account, that's about it really.

When you do chargebacks on Steam, for games you bought on Steam for your account, or buying keys with your account can result in account restrictions, until funds are return.

You bought a game from a disreputable site known for selling stolen keys. Contact that site's support.
Thanks, 5 bucks ain’t that much too worry about, now I know not to shop there.

Consider reversing the charge. They did not deliver what was promised because they're a scam. You are well within your rights to issue a chargeback.

I mean, what are they going to do about it? Revoke the incomplete fake key they gave you?

This is like buying a cheeseburger at McDonalds, not getting a burger and then taking it to Burger King to demand a refund. Just saying.
They have this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rule that u have to have a certain membership to get a refund.

Who are "they"? Because we're talking about your payment method, like your bank, credit card, or paypal. If your bank requires you to have a special account just to issue a chargeback, then you need to find another bank, man.
Tell them, if you dont get a refund for a broken product, you do a chargeback.
Oh no I was talking about the site I bought the key.

Not refund. Contact your bank to do a chargeback on that site.

Be warned, chargebacks should never be done on Steam though, as that can get your Steam account into trouble.

They have nothing to do with the process of you asking your payment service to issue a chargeback. They actually don't have any say in the matter.

You only do a chargeback if the opponent refuses to make the right choice.
Is this like a Yugioh card game ?
