Can I use steam on 2 computers?

Can I use the same steam account on 2 machines at the same time?

So I could game on one and download a game on the other pc at the same time?
Or game on both machines at the same time (different games)?

You can only play on one at a time. I don't remember if you can log into the same account on two different PCs at the same time through the Steam client, but I think it would boot the older user out.

You can I'm always logged in on 2 PC's at least at the same time. You can even download on one and play on the other. Also you can install games on PC while giving the command to do that with another PC or SMA.

You just can't play with both online at the same time only with one. However you can play offline at the same time with the same account on 2 computers.

If you use Steam on one of the PC`s in offline mode (real offline), then you can play on both PC`s, obviously that you can only play online games with one account at the same time.

if you were able to play on 2 PCs at the same time, that means you are playing with yourself!


you can use 2 PCs but not at the same time.
use a steam authenticator so that whenever the real you wants to play, you have the control.

often do this with lan parties and games like civ 5. run them offline in a LAN so friends dont have to buy it simultaniosly

To remember its possible, just remember that Steam In-Home Streaming is a thing, and you need to be login to the same PC in both

You can also download a game while you are playing a game for 1 computer on 1 computer. You just put the game down with for example alt + tab and then you go manage your downloads from a button in the games section and click it up and so it downloads and you can window your game again.
