Games keep crashing HELP!
Before, I was able to run games fine. Now, shortly after starting a game (20 secs) the game freezes and it either crashes on its own or I have to alt+f4. I have already tried reinstalling windows.

ASUS ROG GL753VE
GTX 1050 Ti
16 GB RAM
i7-7700HQ
Windows 10

im using windows 10 and its every game

After reinstalling Windows, you have to run updates for the OS all over again, and be sure all drivers are fully up to date.

Also, you would need to reinstall all GPU drivers from Nvidia as well.

Then, there can be software causing issues with the games perhaps. Antivirus and security software are very often the issue, but there can be others.

Programs Which May Interfere with Steam

EDIT..............................................

I see alot of brand new drivers for that machine, as well as even a BIOS update.

If it is not an update or software conflict issue, it could possibly be a hardware issue, such as PSU or RAM perhaps even. Yes, even if these are brand new.

Post what PSU you have in that build, please. Have you tested your RAM maybe ?

Did you update everything covered in my post above ?

I had windows check for updates and made sure my drivers are up to date. Also my PSU is just a lithium ion battery with AC 120 watt (connected while playing games).

Sorry about the PSU question. I made a mistake there. I saw before it is an OEM laptop and not custom built.

Did you allow Windows to update your GPU drivers ? You should get those from Nvidia, not Microsoft.

Also, the RAM question.

Also, the antivirus and security software, and programs points and links.

When you reinstalled Windows, you actually did a full reformat and reinstall or a reset of the system ?

You bought this laptop brand new or did you get it somewhere else ?

Just tested my RAM, there were no errors. Got my drivers from Nvidia. Not sure about the AV or security. When I reinstalled windows it was full. I bought the laptop brand new.
If you reinstalled WIndows from scratch, then you surely did a reformat while doing that. Hence why I asked if you did or you did a reset. You seem to have not specified.

So unless you reinstalled an antivirus program after that, there would be no third party antivirus at all. But if you did a reset, it might matter if there was one installed by the factory or dealer of the laptop.

I doubt it is a hardware issue, but I could be wrong. If you want to explore software conflicts, then
do this, please :

1. Take screenshots of all of the programs you have installed on your computer. Control panel then programs/programs and features. (Windows 7,8,8.1) or "apps" (Windows 10 click "Start" (Windows icon on bottom left))

2. Click Windows Start and type in msconfig and run that resulting process. Go to the services tab and check the box on bottom "Hide all Microsoft services". Take screenshots of all that is left.

3. Then go to the startup tab on top of that same window (Task Manager in W10). Take screenshots of all that there also. Don't forget to scroll down if needed and get everything in the shots, please.

Post all the links to the above screenshots here, using a file hosting site such as imgur.com, which is free to use.

I did reset and I installed malwarebytes as my AV.

Still need the screenshots, please. As I said above, security software is not the only software that can possibly cause issues like this.

I already see a big one. CCleaner.

It has a monitoring mode section that is a known conflict with Steam and games. Disable all monitoring of your PC by CCleaner.

Or, totally disable it from launching on boot. You don't need CCleaner to play games. Or better yet, totally uninstall it for now and reboot the computer.

You have to restart after uninstalling programs.

You have Intel HD Graphic Controller service installed and running also. You cannot have multiple GPU drivers on the same machine without possilble conflicts and issues.

I suggest you uninstall all GPU stuff related to the Intel device, and keep the Nvidia drivers and GTX card as your primary and sole GPU. That is probably your biggest issue.

If this does not work, it may be needed to perform a clean reinstall of the GPU drivers, using a tool like DDU (display driver uninstaller).

See, this is why Windows Update automatically updating everything is not always a good idea. The Dual GPU's you have being what I mean, and drivers for them.

EDIT....Yes, CCleaner is not running in the shots. But let's make sure it is not monitoring anyway, please. And make it not run automatically on boot or uninstall.

so even if its Intel integrated graphics, it is safe to remove? Or could I just disable it instead?

Sure, you can try to disable all Intel GPU related processes and restart the computer and see if that works. But again, if the drivers are conflicting for some reason, a clean reinstall might fix it, but I cannot say for sure.

But it is possible. A clean reinstall is a bit different than just a normal install.

See this, please.

Only do this as a last resort, in case we are just missing something more simple. It has to be done exactly correct, and in the right order to perhaps help.
