Bethesda games crash Moonlight with Raspberry Pi
NVidia Geforce Experience version: 3.14.0.139

Moonlight Embedded version: 2.4.6

Moonlight Embedded source: Repository

Moonlight Embedded running on: Raspberry Pi 3 B+

Moonlight Embedded running on distribution: Raspbian Stretch

Verbose output -verbose of Moonlight Embedded:
Moonlight Embedded 2.4.6 (PI;ALSA;EMBEDDED) Connect to 192.168.113.6... NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980, GFE 3.14.0.139 (gs_04_06_24080785, 7.1.406.0) Platform Raspberry Pi (Broadcom) Loading mappingfile /usr/share/moonlight/gamecontrollerdb.txt Stream 1280 x 720, 60 fps, 10000 kbps Initializing platform...done Resolving host name...done Starting RTSP handshake...done Initializing control stream...done Initializing video stream...done Initializing audio stream...done Initializing input stream...done Starting control stream...done Starting video stream...done Starting audio stream...done Starting input stream...done Control stream received disconnect event Loss Stats: Transaction failed: 11 Stopping input stream...done Stopping audio stream...done Stopping video stream...done Stopping control stream...done Cleaning up input stream...done Cleaning up audio stream...done Cleaning up video stream...done Cleaning up control stream...done Cleaning up platform...done

What is the expected result? Game starts.

What happens instead of that? When attempting to launch Skyrim or Fallout 4, the launcher for the game shows up briefly, then the streaming ends with the above output. I tried a different game, non-Bethesda without a launcher (Just Cause 2), and it worked fine. Therefore I wonder if the issue is related specifically to the fact that there is a launcher, or specifically to the fact that both these games are Bethesda (maybe a shared setting that causes the problem).

Additional details: I have a GTX 980 with the most up to date driver. Everything is wired via Ethernet through my router and a Netgear Gigabit switch.

There is a similar error that occurs occasionally with an additional line:

Input: sendInputPacketOnControlStream() failed: -1

Any help here would be appreciated, does anyone know how I can avoid or fix this issue?

I've tried installing a lower version of GeForce experience (3.13.1.30). I also uninstalled and reinstalled moonlight on the Pi:

sudo apt remove moonlight-embedded sudo apt-get install moonlight embedded

Neither of these solutions fixed my problem, I still crash on Skyrim and Fallout 4 (tried Portal 2, it worked as well).

I would suggest to totally bypass all that extra hardware and run the ethernet cable directly to your PC from the modem or source unit in your network.

Then test it again.

Just tried: no luck. I bypassed the switch by plugging my PC directly into the router, and the Pi was already directly into the router. Still the issue is only with the games I listed.

Can you not bypass the router also ? Is this a router/modem combo unit ?

That doesn't make any sense because the modem connects to the ISP via coax, then has a single ethernet output that is connected to the WAN port on the router. The modem connects me to the internet, but this issue isn't related to the internet

Bypass everything except modem and PC. Ethernet from PC to modem. If there is a connection issue, this eliminates the router from the equation. Process of elimination.

2. Bypass your router by plugging your machine directly into the modem.

Are the Bethesda games you're trying to play listed in Geforce Experience?
Dr. VanNostrand 2018 年 6 月 6 日 下午 5:53
The non-Bethesda games are listed.

And actually, I found a solution, though it does not address the root cause (because ideally Steam Big Picture would work with it). If I launch the game directly using the -app flag, it launches successfully and I can play it. This bypasses the Steam Big Picture, but that doesn't really matter to me because I just want to play the game.

I am sorry if my suggestions did not seem helpful, but I was just looking at your list above and the one I mentioned was the first one I saw that caught my attention in the list...

In your list, up to that point, all seems well, but then that error. Which seems to be a connection related error, as far as I know.

Then, the other error you posted......

"Input: sendInputPacketOnControlStream() failed: -1"

This all seems connection related to me, althought admitedly seems strange with just the games you mentioned.
