Mobile Authenticator Added
A Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator provides additional security for your account. Adding an authenticator does not immediately remove existing restrictions. Trades created within the first 7 days of adding the authenticator will still have up to a 15 day trade hold. This allows your items to still be protected and gives you time to recover your account if a malicious actor were to ever add an authenticator to your account.
If your account was already protected by Steam Guard via email, you will have no new restrictions from using trading or the Community Market. If your account was not protected by Steam Guard via email or mobile app, you will be restricted from using trading and the Community Market for 15 days because Steam Guard has been recently enabled.
Shouldn't there be an option to prematurely end it? Y'know, for the people who DON'T want to wait 15 days?
My initial question was how can I remove it, so no, I didn't answer my own question, smartass.
7 days, then re-list the item.
If you have been friends with someone for over a year, and you want to trade with them, the holds are only one day.
EDIT............
It isn't for "no reason". You ignored the reason that was posted above.
Purchasing games isn't as risky because they can just reverse fraudulent transaction easily. It doesn't involve other Steam users.
See the support page, please. There are many other restrictions also, and they usually explain the reason, at least basically, in the text of each restriction.
Again, it is not "pointless". You just added the exact reason, after saying it is pointless.
Listen, buddy. When it comes to a breach in security, a 7-day hold can be beneficial. But an option to willingly opt out of it will cost nothing at all and in fact be beneficial to people who don't want to be overprotective where they don't need to be.
In simpler terms that someone like you can understand: I want to opt out of some of my account's security features so things can be more easy.
