[FIXED] Steam does not detect Vermintide 2 running; developers can't help
I have an extremly weird issue with one particular game: Warhammer: Vermintide 2.

In short, Steam does not display me as running this game while in-game hours count within the Steam Library. I cannot connect to anybody with in-game "Connection timeout" error (neither anybody can connect to me).

I have contacted developers and they said they had never heard of such an issue. Here's the link to the thread where they reply to me: https://en.kundo.se/org/fatshark/d/cant-connect-to-anybody-because-steam-does-not-det/#c2888943

I have tried doing everything they suggest there and everything Steam troubleshooting guidelines contain. All my other games are being detected by Steam fine. I am not even sure what exactly causes this problem: the game, Steam or my PC. Does anybody have similar issue with this particular game or knows what is the appropriate way to address this issue directly to Steam client developers team? I would appreciate any help 'cause I am frustrated and helpless.

Thank you. I am in a contact with developers and Steam Support but the issue still persists and I will post here if any solution will be introduced.

This thread is from 2018, so one would think it has been fixed.

Well in any case, you only have one route to finding out - going and checking in that game's forum here.

Note this was a 3 year old thread about Polish ISPs blocking due to ipv6 which has long been resolved

Hi, it had been fixed. Sorry, I forgot to post here 'cause it took long enough to find a solution.

Neither Steam support, nor devs could pinpoint it. As a final resort, Steam support suggested re-buying the game, virtually deleting it from my account and buying it once more. When I told devs about this they just provided me with a free activation key (what a magnificent customer service!). It actually worked, though no one still has a clear picture of what happened.

Fatshark has been my favorite studio since then due to their extreme helpfulness. They dedicated so much effort to prompt resolution of my issue that I can really say I never encountered such a high level of care about users in non-luxury segments.

First off, no problem taking the time to respond - it takes as long as it takes.

But kuods and thanks for reporting back. This is a wholly weird and unusual problem I've never heard of here, so you're feeding back the solution in your case can help others in future too.

Glad it's sorted anyhow. And indeed that is EXCELLENT customer service.

Thank you guys for the reply. My friend is having the issue, but we can live with it by using the in-game invite hmm
