BBCode parser regression(s) - how to report/open ticket?
EDIT: now working for new and edited posts, existing posts still retain the same problem.

The BBCode parser used by, at least, the Steam discussions system, seemingly has a regression. Where it used to decode correctly the following:

[url=store.steampowered.com][Link to Steam][/url]

i.e. by displaying the text

[Link to Steam]

wrapped in a link, it is now showing the url being linked to, with no trace of the link text.

Additionally, the help system has no fitting category for reporting this occurrence.

PS: apparently there is a problem with the [code] tag, too. It will insert a code section even though there when no matching [/code].

code-tags ae not supposed to ignore bbcode. that's what the noparse is for. Code will just keep formatting and use monospace. You are still supposed to be able to mark-up text within it.

Steam-links are no longer intended to be obscured by design. It still works for other domains: like this[example.org]

This has nothing to do with links being obscured or not, or what domain is the link pointing to.

It's adding square brackets around the link text, that has worked, if I'm not mistaken, until yesterday and not anymore today.

Try that with your example link and this will be the result:

[like this][example.org]

edit: that's fine - now it is working again on new and edited posts, but old posts are still showing the same. Here's hoping they will fix those too.
