I was denied a refund for playing more than 2 hours on the closed beta of a game that's not out yet!
I asked for a refund on a game that has not come out yet but I have played more than 2 hours of the closed beta, which is a separate listing in steam even.

They said it was because I have played more than 2 hours of the game....that's not even released yet.

The kicker? I wanted to return it to my steam wallet so that I could than rebuy the collecters edition of the SAME game!

I don't even have words. I can't even.

Is there not an upgrade option to get the collecters editon later?

Also, it depends on whether the publisher links the beta to the main game. If they keep it seperate then beta time shouldn't count towards the main game, but if they do, then the time counts.

Your best bet is to try and submit a support ticket to get a refund if the game in question hasn't been released yet.

It's a separate entry in steam, it even had 2 separate items in the return, one with 11 hours for the beta and the actual game with no time played.

I already did a ticket to get it refunded and they denied it, I'll try again but....I'm really dissappointed that I even have to, if these tickets are handled by actual people, this should have been a no-brainer.

That was discussed here as well.

I suggest you submit a support ticket.

Not the refund ticket, but a regular support ticket.

I'm not seeing where to submit a "regular support ticket"
