Is the support issue that you're having, on their list of actually-supported things? Perhaps you should say what *specific* problem you are having here, because there've been quite a few threads on the Big Picture and its issues lately.
Assuming it is a bug.
True, for more detail I am using the Steam client on my laptop. I am trying to contact Steam Support through the Steam Support option listed under Help and in particular the Big Picture mode section using the option to contact Steam Support after reviewing the FAQ and not finding a solution.
As for the support issue that I am having is as stated in the title of this thread, I am unable to contact Steam Support when using the option I have stated above. Every time I try to use the two step method, which is to let Steam gather information from your device, type any details or possibly relevant information about the issue you are contacting Steam about and attaching files, provided by Steam to contact Support I receive an error message asking me to try again after a few minutes. That is unfortunately all the information I can provide about the issue I am having as beyond that simple error message there is no other information I have access to to tell me why this happening.
I have already posted there after first discovering Big Picture mode had stopped working for me and received no response. I attempted to use contact Steam Support but found all I got were error messages no matter how times I try.
The fact that you keep getting this error could be related to the Big Picture mode issue you have, and fixing the one might also take care of, or give insight into taking care of, the other.
Here is the message I keep getting when trying to use Steam Support.
CONTACT STEAM SUPPORT
There was a problem submitting your help request to Steam Support. Please wait a few minutes and try again.
If you are attempting to add large attachments please try to submit without them and add them to your request after submitting.
Note that I have never tried to attach any sort of file with my help request.
I have been trying to contact Steam Support with a help request through the Steam client on my computer. Thank you for the suggestion to try it in browser as I had not done that yet as I believed I could do this just through the Steam client. However when trying to contact Steam Support in browser for Big Picture mode it says me that a Big Picture mode help request must be done so through the Steam client.
Also thanks for continuing to help.
Sorry for not helping to actually fix it so far, if I can. What is the exact issue with Big Picture mode you are having ? Above you seem to say it just stopped working. Any more details you can give when you try to use it may help.
You can just link us to your other thread in the bug report section, if you don't want to have to explain that all over again. That's understandable.
Is this under Windows 10 ?
On a second sweep of the Big Picture mode bug forum I have found a number of other threads about issues similar to mine. Although only had one a suggested solution that appeared to have worked for the poster. I will try the solution of either reverting to an earlier version of my graphics driver or reinstalling it as suggested.
The issue I am having with Big Picture mode is that whenever I click on the button to activate it Steam client the screen goes black for a second or so then crashes and kicks me out of the Steam client. I wish I could give more detail but that literally all that happens every time I click on the Big Picture mode button.
Hopefully the graphics driver thing works.
EDIT..Look for a feature called "focus assist".
Also, are you sure that the Steam client is actually "crashing" or is it actually minimizing to the desktop tray instead ?
This is a very important distinction to be sure of, as it may just be minimizing instead. Check your processes in the tray and make sure the Steam icon is set to "show icon and notifications". I don't have Windows 10, so not sure of the exact terminology, if different than previous operating systems.
Looked into the graphics driver solution. The revert did not work as apparently the version I have is the most up to date and is the only version to have ever been installed on the computer, since i have not touched the graphics driver since getting this computer. The re-install option I did not try as I am not experienced enough with computers to attempt something that could mess up my computer far worse then it currently is.
Yes my OS is WIndows 10, though looking at focus assist it is a feature that controls how notifications are seen and heard. The feature or application you are trying to think of may be called something else.
For the Steam client it definitely is crashing as it disappears from the tray and task manager forcing me to to log back in every time I try to start up Big Picture mode.
Boot your PC into safe mode with networking, and test this exact issue only with Steam, while in that boot. This is a simple test, and I am curious if the problem will present itself again there. You can post here while in that boot.
That worked Big Picture mode launched and worked properly.
You said you keep getting that "wait and try later" message.
You said that Big Picture mode actually crashes your Steam client.
You said it works fine in safe mode with networking.
And there is one thing that can possibly be related, where all those things are clues. That is, a software conflict possibly causing all the issues with the message and Big Picture mode.
That's why you don't see it in safe mode with networking, perhaps.
See this, but not everything that can maybe cause that is covered here :

Okay based off of that and a bit of checking what has recently been updated or installed since the issue began, about April 18 2019, I am going to try to uninstalling City of Brass and the Steamworks related program to see if that is causing the problem.
Also I tried submitting a help request in Safe Mode just in case and still got the same error message.
