two weeks, so you're about a couple years boned. Also, that isn't how the refund system is meant to be used. If you don't like a game, cool, refund. But if you're trying to turn it into some weird "Pay once, game on that credit forever" you're going to have a bad time.
8ullfrog 11 maj, 2019 @ 18:01
OH, and if you played more than 2 hours, you're also boned.
SpunkyJones 11 maj, 2019 @ 18:21
Couple of years ago? yah, no refund for you.

Steam is not a rental service, you can read about refunds here.

"A couple of years ago" Did you seriously think it would be possible to refund that game?

not long enough

I have been trying to get a refund on WarZ and Dinodickup for around a decade it seems like.
I call in or post to support. I feel like they at least have to spend that much money to deal with me. I don't know why they wouldn't just give me the refunds right away.

Since the new refund policy, particularly thanks to the EU legislation imo, I haven't had any additional issues.
I buy lots of games and I get many refunds. 14 days and 2 hours is pretty fair
I just never bother trying to fix a game to make it work either though. 2 hours isn't enough time for that bs. I just try it and if it is broken, refund.
If it doesn't have what I thought it did from ads, refund.
They pretty much solved all of the bait and switch stuff going on except for the games with micros.

I had bought Planetside 2. I bought a weapon in it after the first year. They had a year to balance stuff. I bought the weapon. They nerfed it. No idea how I could get that money back. I thought about a chargeback. It worked for guildwars 2 when they reworked it after release and banned all those people doing the chilli peppers.
It just didn't seem right to do a chargeback on a micro transaction when the game itself was fine though.

If that was too long, they have a great refund policy imo.
They don't have a good control on micros though.

If you are too lazy to troubleshoot why a game isn't running on your pc, then perhaps console gaming is more of your league. You wont have to worry about doing any sort of troubleshooting and can just simply game.

you get 2 hours to try a game before the refund time is up and you are going to waste some part of it trying to get a game you bought to work lol

Hey 2008 called and they said EA wants you to buy their games still
That is kinda the whole point...

If you have to spend 1 hour and 59 minutes "trying to get the game to run", then refund it.

Simple as that.

OMG LOL
Stop you are killing me omg lol

no lol
the point is to try the game to see if the gameplay, the art, the controls, the audio, the feel of the game, or whatever matches the advertised version so you aren't getting ripped off by ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ studios like Dinodicked up and war z where they have features advertised that are not in the game...

Sorry, incorrect.

While you can refund for simply not liking a game, that is not what the refund system is actually primarily for.

It's to mainly see if you can actually run that game on your system. It is NOT meant for playtesting games. Read the refund page. It is clearly covered there.

No. The point of the refund policy isn't to demo the game.

REREAD THE POST LOL

I said you are checking that the ADVERTISED version MATCHES the PURCHASED lol

I didn't say you are demoing or trying the game....
I said you are checking for straight up fraud.

And as far as fixing a game, it can take way more than 2 hours or just not be fixable.

I don't know if you know this. I am an electrical and computer engineer, like and subscribe, and programs get pushed out in the real world all the time without working right.

Look at what a pos Denuvu was lol

See we have laws. Bait and switch is illegal. False advertising is illegal.
These things you can get a refund for. So if you want to advocate for some dumb reason to fix a game with 99.99 of your refund time, you can. It is a free country. With all my education, work experience, and game experience I won't.

I have preordered Warcraft 3 though, and I do own ATVI shares at times like now when they are down 40%.
If that game comes out completely broken, I will for that game, wait up to three weeks before issuing a chargeback if it remains broken.

hahahha

You do what you want though. Work on games that are broken like it is 2008 or whatever you want. Let those devs ♥♥♥♥ all over you.

Again, if you have to spend that much time working on the game to run on your system, then refund it before the 2 hours is up. It really is just that simple.

You did not use those words, no, but your examples that were used are in fact "playtesting" the game and the game's features.

That is what the game forum is for, as well as YouTube let's plays or game reviews for example. Or news feeds for that game.

Proper research is the customer's responsibility to do before making the purchase.

EDIT..................

Oh, that will just result in your account being restricted, as well as that payment method blacklisted permanently.

Payment Disputes and Chargebacks

We have seen people sometimes like to use the word "chargeback" here in place of "refund". That is not a refund, of course. It's fraud.
