Can surf internet just fine but can't connect to game servers/matches
Not sure where to ask, so apologies if this is the wrong place.

As the title says I can do everything fine, netflix, youtube, anything works, but when I try to play games I can't connect half the time, for example I'll get kicked out of a brawlhalla match when it starts, GTA won't download it's online files or whatever, fortnite gets stuck trying to connect to matches, etc etc.

I've also noticed since this issue started happening, that when I try to upload an image to discord it will fail twice, and work on the third attempt. Steam too.

This started happening recently, nothing changed on my laptop then, I'm using a ASUS GL503VD Hero Edition with Windows 10. I've tried disabling firewall, and resetting the router with the small reset button as well as unplugging it for 30 secs, and turning it back on.

It says all of the common ports are closed for me.
Those are all closed too, not sure what it means, is my ISP being rude?
Have you tried bypassing the router totally for now, and using ethernet only to test this with ?

Home network, right ?
I have not tried, as I don't currently have an ethernet cable, but I'll buy one sometime and check, however I don't think it should be behaving like this on wifi, and it's kind of in a bad spot for me to be plugged into it all the time.

and yeah, home network.
Alright I'll check it out. Thanks ^^, what would i do if it works with ethernet or doesn't?

If you have no Steam issues with ethernet, then it seems that your router or configuration would then be suspect.

That's why it's good to do that to troubleshoot. The idea being, process of elimination. Feel free to reply if you get that far and need further help. Someone will surely be glad to give some suggestions.
You are welcome. Also, just to add one more thing. Properly configuring a firewall is better than just disabling it. Often, a recent Windows update could have made some changes to the PC without you actually doing anything, as you said above.

So you can use the internet pretty well, but not the Steam network. That is possibly another clue. Just in case you wish to try some things while looking for a cable. Others may also post some ideas until then, so keep an eye on the thread. Thanks.
