Arma 3 FPS problems
Alright, so 2 of my friends have worse specs then me and get around 60 FPS when not in combat and around 40 to 60 in combat. i've researched and tried almost everything i've seen to do and i get 60 fps not in combat but 20 in combat. i just don't get it. and i've heard the "welcome to arma" rebuttal but i just can't say that's completely right, i mean yes arma is a very poorly optimized game but there has to be a reason why they are still getting better frames. my specs are: Geforce GTX 1050TI graphics card, intel i7 processer and 32 GB of ram, no SSD (my friends don't have an SSD either), and 60hz monitor. i'm open to try anything.

Full specs?
What exactly have you already tried?
What are your current vid settings?

Including as much info as possible really helps on threads like this :)
You view distance greatly affects your FPS. Try setting it to 2500.

Your object view distance also plays a big part of your FPS.

Keeping in mind the server may override your clients settings.

Iv got a i9 9900k and 2 1080 TI,s and cannot even crack 70 fps when the server is full. So yeah "Welcome to arma" kinda plays a part here lol.

What specs have your friends got?

my friends have: gtx 1050, 16GB of ram, and i5
Yeah if you have your view distanc on 4k your gonna get low fps. If i set mine to 4k i get about 40 - 60fps. Keeping in mind this is on a server with about 70 people.

My old rig that had a 1060 6gb and a i5 6500 got similar frames to what i get on my current build lol.

Does the server have settings you can change?

For example most wasteland servers have a player menu in the scroll options. In the player menu it has graphics settings.
