Is there a way to change the size of text in the text box when sending messages?

As you can see, my text is so large in the text box I can only read like one line at a time. I just recently had my laptop fixed due to a drive issue and they reinstalled Windows. Before I had it fixed, I could read like 3 lines at a time or something like that, but now the text is just so huge I'm unable to see more than basically one line at a time, and it makes it a pain to go back and read what you've typed.

Stuff in the chat that's been sent seems to be the same size as it was before, so the only issue is with the text box. I've tried changing Windows scaling and font sizes, sometimes it makes the box smaller but I can still only see one line of text at a time. I don't think there's a way to actually change the size of the box because it changes size with the window.

Now you're making me curious. Since the chat interface update one year ago, it was basicly always the size, you are struggling with right now. How did you get it "fixed" before? Using an older client version? [Edit: Oops, misread that about the fixed part. Sorry]

I'd be very interested in your trick, and certainly not just me. The microscopic text field is a pain to many.

I don't think it was an older client version because I also got the chat interface update. I just know I was able to see more than one line at a time.

Yeah your text box is really big.
Your resolution on the desktop effects that.
Your browser Steam has the zoom out feature may help.
Is this on a mobile device?
Look in Big Picture>click the gear>display> resolution.

I think someone forgot how to program as this has been a feature of most chat systems for decades.

And it works a bit odd. It expands upwards...? 8 lines of text.
