Switch Pro Controller freezes Steam
Yeah so, as title says. When I plug in my switch pro controller, after about 5-10 seconds Steam freezes. If I do cave and just force close it, the second I put in my password and log back in it freezes. Un-plugging the controller stops it, but this is obviously a problem because I have to have my controller plugged in to play. I've read another discussion about problems with Corsair kb/m, and I do have a Corsair keyboard but I tried all of the suggestions and nothing works. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi did you manage to fix the problem?

The obvious thing to suspect is drivers. In which case, you're going to have to dig into the manufacturer's website and either find an update, find a resolution on their forums (as other users may well have similar issues), or at worst, email them.

I assume this controller is published as being able to do this?

I haven't yet, and I've tried a number of fixes like re-installing the controller drivers, re-installing steam, and at one point even a complete format & OS re-install. It's been this way since a little bit before my post when there was an update to steam.

I tried it all, same as you, but then I found out that the problem was on my RGB corsair k55 keyboard. Don't know if that can help you, but updating the keyboard's firmware solved my problem. It had nothing to do with the controller in MY case.
Good luck.

Excellent advice.

Remember to check drivers on more than what you're experiencing problems with, Some things share resources, ports or whatever with each other. For instance, it was entirely likely to have audio drivers mess up graphics issues and game freezes due to directX sharing these things.
