Steam account name

Is there anyway to change Steam account name?
I choose the name about 7 years ago as a joke and now it's really annoying me, I really want to change it.

The only people that should know your account name is you and steam support, nobody else.

But as mentioned above, you can't change your account name, only your username.

They don't offer e-mail support, only through a ticket system but they will not change your account name either.

They’ve been asked the question countless times before and the answer’s always the same - they can’t do it. Please don’t add to their workload by raising a ticket for this.

No, it is not worth a shot as it has been asked many times.

Your SteamID and Steam Account Name can not be changed, even by Steam Support staff members. Your player name can be changed at any time in your Steam Community settings, under "Edit my SteamID page".

It says that clearly there and support will NOT change account names, mainly because they can't.

There is no shot to ask them. They have stated NUMEROUS times it cannot be done at present and most likely ever do to the way the database was first designed.

but still I think it's really bad that we can't change our account names not even once in a life time, I hope steam support would do something about this in the future.

Again for the 5th time, it cannot be done because of a lack of support. It is not feasible because the database was not built to support it and uses your account name as the primary identifier.

Changing it introduces a whole slew of potential risks and complications that's not worth it over a cosmetic name.

It is due to technical limitations. The system was never made to handle account name changes.

As the account name is only known to you, it really shouldn't matter what it is. You can change the display name at any time and that is what others see.

indeed and look what psn has done, changing id will lose some paid content seriously???

as he said, the account name is only visible to you and steam(support)

You can family share to another account.

But since the interface changed, the account name is only seen in some places.
