Refund policy on games bought via a physical gift card?

Hi guys,

I received a physical steam gift card today. I understand that the card itself cant be refunded in any way, but I cant find anything about purchases done with the gift card? Can these be refunded ? I assume a refund to my bank account is impossible? But is it possible to refund to your steam wallet?

All the gift card I have dealt with allow refunds, but may not allow you to add more funds directly to them.

If you can not refund to the original payment method (or the refund bounced back) then the refund will automatically be issued to your wallet.

Sorry, didn't notice the Steam part of gift card.

Steam Wallet Cards add funds to your Steam Wallet. You then use the Steam Wallet funds to buy games and if you refund the game, it will go to your Steam Wallet.

For Steam gift cards, the money is refunded to the wallet as that is where the money was used to purchase the game.

When you use a steam gift card you add money to your wallet, then later buy a game with your wallet money. So a refund is done to the wallet. You can't get cash back.
