I modded Final Fantasy 7 with 7th Heaven and The game crashes everytime I try to launch it. Help!
When I launch the game the eidos interactive and square soft logos come up normally but then I keep getting this error message and I don't know what to do

Oops! Something very bad happened.
Wrote crash.dmp to FF7 install dir.
Please provide a copy of alomg with APP.LOG when reporting this error.
Write emergency save to casve/crah.ff7?

What do I do to fix this? Please help

Remove all mods and revert back to the default files. If needed backup the save file and delete all the game files and allow steam to redownload the game.

Is that really my only option, I have to reinstall everything again? Surely there has to be something I can do to fix this.

Back up any config and save files then delete just the cfg/ini files and load the game. You can try that without a full reinstall. Some of the ini/cfgs may not be in the steam folder, youll have to track them down in "mydocs" or wherever they went to.

Well I decided to reinstall the entire game and I'm still getting the error. I wonder if either I have too many mods on or one of the mods is causing the error idk

Try what the good erAm is saying here first. You can also get help with a modded game in the game's own forum. Those there that play it and mod it as well may have other ideas, but what the good erAm is saying is a good start to try to get the save "cleaned" up so it will load.

If you can get the game to load at some point, immediately make another new save if that game allows it but do NOT overwrite saves. Make a new save in an empty slot if the game allows it. Never overwrite saves. Always make a new one and deletes old ones when you are ready.

Search for the config and ini files that were made outside of the steam folder. Loads of games do this and it's normal, if you deleted all the steam files and redownload and it still didnt work then start looking outside of steam for any files related to the game.

For example back up then move the old save files and reload the game. Do the same with any cfg/ini files.

This is odd, I can't find the config and ini files in my computer. WTF

Not sure if it matters here, but make certain you have file extensions set as visible in Windows.

This crappy piece of sh*t software called "7th Heaven" works only with the english game version.
Here is some news for our monolinguistic script kiddies: The game is available in many languages, not just one. At least four last I checked.

I don't know what moron hardcoded "ff7_en.exe" into 7th Heaven but it is the source of many peoples headache. Try adding ff7_de.exe, ff7_es.exe and ff7_fr.exe in your if-statement logic...

Okay, vented enough. Time to play UNMODDED FF7. F*UCK YOU, 7th HELL!
