help my laptop suddenly won't run games
ok so i am currently running an asus 8gb ram 1tb intel core i5 laptop, really nothing special and i don't know much about laptops but it is fairly new. But now it won't run games properly without being glitchy, and it was litterly working perfectly yesturday. I did happen to download a few things today, but i deleted them as soon as my games stopped working. Like it first happened when i was playing skyrim, it was working like hell, so i went on eso, also working like hell, when they normally work good. Like everything was all choppy, and slow, and i really can't take this laptop back or get a new one... is there any suggestions on what might the problem be?

Post the exact model and model number of this laptop.

Post the full operating system, please. (Example Windows 7 32 bit, Windows 10 64 bit, etc.)

What is your antivirus program ?

Well, that information may be needed later, please.

And McAfee is one problem. It is on the list...and I have seen child process of McAfee, even when it is uninstalled, still be leftover and conflict with Steam and games.

"Could" be, yes. If this was me, I would fully uninstall McAfee, restart my computer, then click Windows Start after the PC was fully booted up (give it plenty of time) then type in msconfig and run the result and look at the startup tab and the services tab.

I will bet you just about anything that you have 1 or 2 child processes still leftover from McAfee, even after you uninstalled it just then.

Don't forget. Uninstall. Restart. Then proceed with the suggestion using msconfig.

Are you sure that is not "X541UA" instead ? Or maybe "UAK"

Because I found this as the closed one to that which you posted above...

If that is not the right computer, search ASUS using the site and find your's please, then post the link here.

That was not all that I posted as a suggestion for you to do, and of course that is not the final step even if there is no child processes. You have to verify the game files before you playtest any games after taking steps to troubleshoot.

But again, I posted more for you in that reply above. You seem to have missed doing the msconfig step.

No worries. I needed to clarify about the linked computer.

IF you are sure that model that I linked you above is your EXACT computer, then are you sure you have all those device drivers listed there in their latest versions fully up to date using ASUS only ?

If you are not sure, I suggest you make sure all device drivers are fully up to date by downloading the latest versions of them and intalling the latest versions of them.

Not talking about running Windows update, though, if that is what you mean by "installing a bunch of updates". That sounds like you are talking about Windows update.

If you are using Windows update to update your device drivers, that is one mistake right there. Never do that unless you have no other choice. It is Windows update, not ASUS update.

Windows may not have the latest device drivers always. And ASUS is more trustworthy to have those instead.

If the computer is doing this with any games, that seems to further confirm you have conflicting software or the drivers still need to be updated, or lastly, and I only say this to include it here as a possibility, an infection.

Post screenshots of all of your installed programs on that computer, please. Each and every program.
