Steam Global translator.
Few questions about the Steam Global translation project. Have a few languages I am quite good at and wonder if this is something for me.
1. Is it hard to apply?
2. Is it still an active project?
(3. Is the badge still obtainable or was it just for a limited time?)

Hey vihainencrank!

Steam Translations (STS) is absolutely still an active project.

The badge is also still obtainable: There's a level system and you can reach a maximum of 2 levels per month; one for translating more strings and words than the average of all translators translated within the last month and another one for entering the core team by being one of the 5 most active translators of your language at the end of a month.
Translators reaching level 12 on Steam Translation will be granted the Translator's Badge (e.g. staying in your language's top 5 for 6 months). This badge levels up to bronze, silver, and gold with each additional 12 levels thereafter (level 12 = basic, 24 = bronze, 36 = silver and 48 = gold).

If all this sounds interesting, you can submit an application here: http://translation.steampowered.com

Please note that there is a maximum of applications that can be pending at a time; should you be unable to apply because of that right now, you can let me know and I'll see if I can find a moderator of the language in question that has the time to process a bunch of pending applications.

If there are further questions, please let me know, take a look at this official FAQ article, or get in touch with other Steam Translators here: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/STSLounge/discussions/

Thank you very much Max. I'll probably make an application if I have time.
But if I have a question for you what is the best way to contact you?

You can see your level on your STS profile. There's a number showing on your profile image indicating your current level.

Valve shutdown the STS service earlier in the year in favor of the Crowdin platform.

The one side-effect of that is that your contributions to Crowdin don't count towards the STS badge.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
