CS:GO Wont Launch | Steam Support Did't Help | Please Help Me
As you can tell by the title CS:GO won't launch. I had an issue before where I got a black screen whenever I quit the game, pressed the windows key, or pressed F11. Now the issue is that whenever I go to launch CS:GO I get the "preparing to launch" message but the game does not launch, the same this happens with GMod. I have already tried re-installing the game, setting CS:GO.exe to admin but this has not worked. thank you in advance for helping.

There is a fix in there but i cant try it because the cputest.exe for "Source Games Wont Launch" wont run because i think that program is out of date.

Why are you trying to test your CPU ?

If your CPU is otherwise fine and meets the requirements for the game, that should not be necessary.

Post your complete system specs. (Operating system, GPU, CPU, RAM, etc.)

Be sure to state if that OS is 32 or 64 bit and what Windows it is.

These details, as well as the system specs are really good to include in your opening post.

Now post the exact motherboard that you have, please.

And you have downloaded and installed each and every device driver from here...

https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/SABERTOOTH_990FX/HelpDesk_Download/

in their latest versions, as well as checked on any release notes for any BIOS updates that may be highly recommended, especially since you have Windows 10 ?

Get GPU drivers from AMD instead, of course.

Just saw your edit. YES. That can surely be a problem, as well as child processes of Norton.

Norton can be toxic for Steam. Why would you want that antivirus on that nice build ???

You did not even comment on device drivers from the official site of ASUS that I linked.

I am not only talking about GPU drivers here. You built that computer, so where did you download and install the device drivers from ?

It should have been from ASUS only, if my link above is to the correct board.

To me it is funny that you went from Avira back to Norton. If you ask me, Avira all day over Norton. Norton is horrible.

I am not talking about GPU drivers here. A computer needs more devices than a GPU to function.

Do you not see all the drivers on the page I linked ? Since you don't seem to know what I am talking about, that is a huge issue and apparently you have not installed them at all.

That is the first thing you have to do after installing an OS on a new build. Not sure why, but you seem to be totally ignoring what I keep saying about device drivers from ASUS other than GPU.
