"Failed to load steamui.dll"
Some time ago, Steam suddenly kept trying to install the same update again and again. I deleted Steam, trying to remove this problem. Now, whenever I try to start Steam, it keeps saying "Failed to load steamui.dll".

I feel like I've tried everything. I've uninstalled everything except Steam.exe (also tried it in safe mode) and installed it again, completely removing it with CCleaner and installing it, I'm no beta participant, I don't have any virus program besides WindowsDefender.... I REALLY don't know what to do. Nothing seems to work.

I've tried to contact steam support 4 days ago, but they haven't answered. What do I do?

steamUI.dll was missing. I downloaded it from another computer and transferred it into the steam library. STILL, the problem percists. It seems like it can't see the steamUI.dll. I wrote to steam 5 days ago. No answer. I don't know what to do....

Can't say it is related here in your case, but CCleaner monitoring mode conflicts with Steam, and is on this list.

https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=9828-SFLZ-9289

I suggest you at least disable that mode in CCleaner. Check the rest of the list for possible problematic software.

For example....

PC Tools ThreatFire software (which is also contained in PC Tools Spyware Doctor) can prevent the normal operation of loading of Steam games, including common errors such as Unable to load filesystem_steam.dll and Engine Error: Could not load library client. If you are encountering Steam errors and have ThreatFire or Spyware Doctor installed, please do the following:

I've now tried to uninstall any program that could interfere with Steam. This included even uninstalling Skype, CCleaner and Iobit Driver Updater. Nothing worked.

When I install steam, steamui.dll is not being downloaded for some reason. Anyone know why?

Every time you uninstall any program to troubleshoot computer issues or Steam issues, you have to restart your computer. Each and every time. If you don't reply that you are doing that, we cannot know that you are doing that, please.

Post screenshots of ALL of your installed programs on that computer. You can use a file hosting site, upload them, then post the links here. We need to see EACH program that you have installed on that computer, please.

Something is apparently still getting in the way of the .dll then.

I suggest this....

Move your steamapps folder to a safe place. Then fully uninstall Steam the proper way.

See this...

https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=9609-OBMP-2526

After that, boot your computer into safe mode with networking. It MUST be with networking enabled in the boot options menu.

Download a fresh new installer of the Steam client.

http://store.steampowered.com/about/

WHILE in safe mode with networking, install Steam. Install it to a folder all by itself on whatever drive you choose but do NOT install it in any UAC protected folders such as programfiles(x86).

EXAMPLE C:\Steam and NOT C:\programfiles(x86)\Steam

While STILL in safe mode with networking, after Steam is installed, launch Steam and let it fully update. Wait for all updates to be downloaded to Steam before doing anything on your computer.

Now, while STILL in safe mode with networking, try to log in and see if notice improvement.

Thanks you for taking your time. It means the world to me!

However, it still doesn't work:

Here is a list of all my programs. I've deleted a lot of stuff, and then restarting my computer:

I did as you said, removing steam completely: http://i1240.photobucket.com/albums/gg497/peterlravn/No%20steam%202_zpseqdht0hf.png
There was no "Steam" on my program list in the Control Panel, so I manually deleted Steam as the guide said. Step by step.

Then I tried installing it in safe mode: http://i1240.photobucket.com/albums/gg497/peterlravn/No%20steam%203_zpsee1emcjc.png
I made a folder in 'C:\' called 'Steam', and installed it there....

But it STILL gave me the error message.... Some program MUST interfere, but I almost don't have any programs left!

The fact that you say there was no Steam on your programs list is strange. That sounds like the .exe was missing also. That PowerShell view is not really what I was hoping for, with all due respect.

Control panel then programs, as if you were going to uninstall a program. That is the list that would be nice to have.

Go ahead and post the model number and model of the computer, or motherboard if custom built. Post the full operating system, also, please. (Windows and if 32 or 64 bit)

Yea, that all looks pretty good, as far as I can tell ,but installing in safe mode with networking is what was suggested. You only replied by saying "safe mode". If you don't reply with "networking" then we cannot know you are doing it correctly.

You should be in safe mode WITH networking. You can even post here while in safe mode with networking.

So please state if you were in fact in that correct boot of Windows.

In that safe boot, programs should not matter, as they are not loaded or running. Only the basic Windows system files and drivers, and network drivers are loaded.

I thought the PowerShell was the most correct one, my bad.

My computer is a Lenovo ideapad U330p and model name is 20267

My specs:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4200U CPU @ 1.60GHz 2.30 GHz
Installed memory (RAM): 4.00 GB
System type: 64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor

I did install Steam in "safe mode" with internet. I did make sure to enable networking when restarting in safe mode :)

When I install Steam, the "steamUI.dll" file is simply not being installed. It's not in the directory...?

How come it's missing, when I just installed a totally fresh Steam program (in safe mode with networking)?

Yes, I know.... It just doesn't make any sense! Steam have worked before.... And I see absolutely no things causing a problem..... ;_;

Steam Support won't even answer. It has been 7 days since I posted the problem...

Please, unless I missed it, always post your OS like this..

Windows 7 32 bit, Windows 8.1 64 bit, Windows 10 32 bit. We need the complete OS, please. Again, unless I missed it, and if so, excuse me.
The Raven From DK Nov 30, 2016 @ 3:51pm
Oh, sorry, I have a Windows 10 64 bit. Is this what you needed? Anything more I need to add?
The Giving One Nov 30, 2016 @ 3:57pm
The Lenovo site is not very user friendly. You need to please go here...

http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/Laptops-and-netbooks/IdeaPad-U-Series-laptops/IdeaPad-U330p-Notebook?tabName=Downloads&linkTrack=Mast:SubNav:Support:Drivers%20and%20Software|Drivers%20and%20Software&beta=false

And confirm that is the EXACT computer that you have. And also, confirm that is the OS entered into the drop box menu there for device drivers. If you have not fully made sure all device drivers are fully up to date from Lenovo only and NOT by using Windows update, you need to do that now, please.

Again, make SURE that is the correct computer, and if it is not, the search for your exact computer there and enter Windows 10 64 bit in the drop box menu for OS. Then get ALL the device drivers up to date.
