Elder Scrolls DLC:Hearthfire bought Amazon won't register

Hi,
I bought the DLC: Hearthfire from Amazon and attempted to apply it in steam. I got the error "Please activate the original game". This is confusing to me because I already have Skyrim in my steam library and I play it regularly. So, from my viewpoint, I have the original game and it is active.

Please help.

You have the special edition that already includes all the DLC. The one you bought from Amazon is for the old non-special edition.

No actually i looked in details of my skyrim special edition and looked under the tab of DLC it says you have no DLC for this game

Yes because it's all baked into the game itself. There's no other DLC for the special edition.

I'm pretty sure the special edition of Skyrim contains all the add-ons such as Hearthfire in the base game and not as seperate DLC. The content you have bought is for the base game of the original Skyrim.

Well i cant find how to access hearthfire because to get the plot of land you have to talk to someone and she isnt there, also the description of the game in the store would tell you if the DLC was included but it doesnt.

As has been said, DLC is included.

There isn't a specific someone you need to talk to in order to access the Hearthfire DLC.
