Game still in my library after refund
I requested a refund for a little game I got by mistake and my request was accepted and I got my money back. But, I still have the game in my library (with a PURCHASE button instead of the PLAY one, that is weird) and also I still have my playtime and achievements, while they should have been removed after the refund.
Restarting the client didn't work.
I'll fill another support request eventually for removing the game from my library altogether but first I'd like to ask if you have any tips on how to solve this. Thanks.

No need to, it's still in your library because the game files are still on your hard drive.

Just remove the game folder and it should be fixed.

Well, it's not weird. Refund doesn't uninstall games.

Neither does refunding remove playtime or achievements.

During the refund request, it's stated achievements and playtime will be removed.
In fact, now that i solved my problem, achievements and playtime are gone.

Let me correct myself then.

If you get the game again, the same achievements and same playtime is there.

Otherwise people could just refund and rebuy and continue from where they left off.

i have the same issue but : if i play the game i will pay the money back? I havent tested yet but im afraid that they take money from my steam wallet

You simply won't be able to play the game, as it does not belong to you anymore.

Same as with Free Weekends, for example. When you install a game on a Free Weekend, it will still be installed after the free period ends -- but trying to start it will just give you the purchase option.

No transcations CANNOT work like that, it'd be grossly illegal to charge without your agreement.

It'll likely fix itself in time. JUst don't worry about it in any case. If you've got a refund you CLEARLY don't want to play it anymore.

EDIT: You have to remember it's a multi-pronged process. In a refund, they don't just flick a swicth. First off, they need to balance the books. So after the check of whether you're entitled to refund, they would have to remove the funds from the devs account, and return it to their books. Then that money is physically issued from Valve to you. It's likely then that the actual removal of the game is hinged upon the moment you get the final refund and accept it, or sometime after.

Maybe they haven't accepted the refund yet? When you ask for a refund, there's still some time until it's accepted and taken from your account.

If the refund has been accepted it could just be the system hasn't updated the button correctly. I'd try closing Steam and reloading it.

The usual fix anyone should try when something isn't working as it should.
