Game not updating (corrupt update files)

Hello, I am trying to update my Rainbow 6 siege game. However, instead of launching the game, It sends me a message saying "An error occured while updating Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege (corrupt content files): C:\Users\Gavin\Steam\steamapps\common\Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege\datapc64_merged_bnk_textures0.forge" this is very frustrating because I cannot fix it. I tried every fix you guys suggested. And tried every youtube tutorial I could find. I just want to play the game i spent my hard earned money for. Please Help me fix this.

What is your antivirus program and any other security software you may be using ?

Manually drag the file to your desktop temporarily, keeping the "corrupt" version of it just in case.

Then, verify the game files again.

i had a similar problem for a different game (civ v), where it displayed the same type of message.

I solved it my uninstalling the game and re-installing it.

you prolly have fixed it by now.
i was defragging my drive(hybrid) and found that Siege textures files are the most fragmented,like 400/file
mind-boggling
