Steam WTF is wrong with you?
Seriously... messed up your login because you have to add 8 DNA codes and a drop of blood to make it unique. Since I forgot I had to reset it. After I reset it, it was still wrong even though I just reset it and don't have the memory of a snail.

My whole network gets locked for over an hour and I can't play any of my games or even make a freaking ticket? This is ridiculous wtf is wrong with you?

First of all, if I reset my account, you send my confirmation code to the same email I just reset it with (that's stupid). After that, you make me reset it for being on a new computer on the website, and the app every time I ever move my computer anywhere. Then I have multiple levels I have to go through. If I reset it correctly, I can't trade for a week. I can't even play my games offline as is. I can't even start anything. Wtf steam why are you going crazy with your stuff and not giving me a way to use my account with hundreds of dollars in games for over an hour???? At least have a number I can call to unlock it. All my friends are going to bed because we have jobs. I don't get to play tonight because you're more controlling than a PS4 controller.

I suggest you fix this.

This surely is a problem on your end, and not on Valve's end.

For that part of your "suggestion" above, I would post in Help and Tips to get advice on how to troubleshoot it.

Yes, a new device restriction is triggered depending on what you did to trigger it.

https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=1047-edfm-2932#newdevice

Newly Authorized Device

If you are logging onto Steam from a device that has not been previously authorized by Steam Guard (log in confirmed via email), you will not be able to trade or use the Community Market from this device for 7 days. Any other devices that have already been authorized for at least 7 days will still be able to trade and use the Community Market.

Actions such as clearing your web browser cookies, using a new web browser, reinstalling Steam, and reformatting your computer will make that device look new to Steam and will trigger this restriction.

Exceptions: If you have had a Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator on your account for at least 7 days, there will be no trading or Market restrictions for using new devices/computers. This is because you'll confirm trades and Market listings from the mobile app.
It's actually 100% a valve end issue. They lock your network if you fail a login too many times. Idc what "remember your password" crap people say, if I forget my password and try to guess it a few times, I should be able to recover my account and log in. I shouldn't be made to wait over an hour without any information and no way to contact support.

Also, I can't play offline if my usename and password wasn't set to "remember me". That's ridiculous. Let me play my game without forcing me to use a LESS SECURE method to play it offline. It's counter to all their other policies because they don't want people to play games on their friends accounts. This is the only reason it's there.

So you forgot your login information, but somehow that is Valve's fault.
Why can you not self recover the account ?

Not sure what you are talking about here. That setting should have no bearing on if you can play offline or not. Nothing should be "forcing" you to have to play offline, unless you have a connection issue on your end perhaps.

These problems are on your end, surely.

If you fail a log in too many times, you can't log in to any account for an hour. You can't log in on steam's website, you can't log in to steam's app, you can't sign in at all. You can't even sign in to a different account. You can't play at all or contact support for an hour or more. There are tons of posts of people waiting multiple hours and it still doesn't work, and if you try to sign in to check, it resets the timer.

I didn't ask your opinion on whether I was forced to play offline.

I said that I am completely unable to play games that I have purchased in offline mode unless I checked a box saying "remember me". If my internet goes down. or my power goes out and I have a laptop, or if I just don't want to log on, I can't play at all.
These problems are on your end, surely.

I get that you think you're being condescending, but as you can't seem to fathom the fact that steam choosing to lock your network from even attempting to log in is not a "my side" issue, you just look silly.

First, stop multiposting, please. Make one post at a time. This is not a chat room. We cannot see your new posts as we are typing a reply to another post.

Second, one more time of you being insulting here, and I am done trying to help you.

And it should not need explaining why that is there. That is not singular to only Steam. That is a security feature seen in many applications. Failed login attempts lock you out, if you do that too much, yes.

I was simply saying you should not be forced to play offline. You should be able to log in (once you have access of couse and can enter the correct information without too many failed attempts) and play your games normally from your library without any issues.

So have you not waited to see if you can self recover the account after this one hour period ?

You said you cannot remember your login information above. I am still unsure why checking that box should have any bearing on if you can play offline or not. I can go to Steam in the top left and go offline at any time here, and back online, without any issues.

Honestly, I never use the "remember me" feature, as that gets one into the bad habbit of not typing the login information in each time....and therefore forgetting it in some cases.

Sounds like someone want more people to get their accounts stolen again. How nice....
